'I killed Hahn. He was one of the most important people in the tribe. Prison is not the worst punishment that can happen to me.'
'I wish you aren't right. I don't know how to help you' Sokka said sadly.
He wants to help me, I thought. I knew I couldn't put him in such danger. I gave him the dagger.
'Kill me, Sokka. I have no one to live for, and if the government find out that you helped me, you'll be in big trouble.'
He looked at me with a fear in his eyes but he took the dagger. I couldn't feel any other emotions form him and I didn't know what he was going to do. It would be nice if he did what I asked. Sokka looked at the item in his hand and and then he looked at me. I prepared myself for the pain and closed my eyes, but I heard that Sokka dropped the tool on the floor.
'I won't do that. Whatever the consequences, I will help you because you deserve it. Don't say that you have no one to live for. Maybe the others have turned their backs on you, but I haven't. Remember about it, ok?' Sokka asked and he came close to me and hugged me.
'Ok. But please, don't tell the truth your team' I said.
'I wasn't even going to suggest it, their behavior was outrageous. I don't know how they would react now. We shouldn't risk. I believe you, I feel it here.' He touched his chest near the heart. 'There wasn't any other solution. I can't imagine being in such a difficult situation for so long, but now you're not alone.'
'Thank you' I said and I looked into his eyes.
'I know what we're going to tell the team. I'll take care of it, do you trust me?'
'Of course!'
'Okay, now let's go to sleep, even only for a while.'
I laid on a couch and covered myself with a blanket.
'The bed is big,' Sokka said smiling.
'I hurt you today, you should recover.'
'I won't sleep alone'.
I stood up and laid next to him. We were looking at each other. He took my hand and kissed it.
'Good night, Yuki'.
'Good night, Sokka'.
I fell asleep very quickly. I went to bed peacefully for the first time in months. It wasn't a long sleep, but it was restful. I woke up three hours later. Sokka was no longer asleep.
'Good morning! Get dressed, today you must be Sagi again, but don't worry, I'll talk to Aang and convince him to trust you' he said.
I nooded my head. I walked over to my clothes that were on the floor. I dressed them and I wanted to bind my hair but my back really hurt me. I groaned in pain. Sokka noticed that and came over to me. He pulled my hair into a high ponytail.
'Now you have a hair like mine. We look wonderful. Come on and remember, I'll take care of my friends' reaction.'
He opened the room's door. I went out the room and Sokka closed the door. We went down the stairs. Then I saw Aang, Katara and Toph. They were waiting for Sokka. When they saw me following him, the atmosphere thickened.
'What is he doing here?' Aang asked angrily.
'Aang, calm down! He is our friend, we mustn't leave him alone in this situation. Yes, he made a mistake, but everyone makes mistakes.'
'He's a murderer. This cannot be called a mistake.' Katara said.
'Just shut up! He's coming with us!' Sokka shouted.
'No, he's not coming with us.' Aang replied.
'It's my fault.' Sokka said suddenly.
'What?' Toph got curious.
I didn't know what Sokka was going to say but I didn't think he could change their opinion about me.
