At the base, the soldiers were all familiar with the strong bond between ghost and soap. Whenever they were given leave, soap would always make sure to drag ghost out with him to experience all sorts of adventures.

They'd go on hikes, jack through dense forests, and try a variety of outdoor activities. Whenever they came back to base, they'd be sporting grins from ear to ear, recounting their stories to the other soldiers.

Soap and ghost had a friendship like few others. Everyone at the base could tell just how close these two were - no matter  how hard and grueling their missions, the two could always be seen laughing and joking around in between.

The bond between these two was unbreakable, and the other soldiers looked up to them with admiration. They knew that, despite the harsh conditions of war and the obstacles they had to overcome, soap and ghost could always find the strength to push through and be there for each other.

It would be a bond that lasted until the end of their tour and far beyond - a testament of a friendship forged in the heat of battle and that would stay strong no matter what life throws at them.

Comfort

Soap had been working all day and was famished. He trudged to the mess hall, hoping to find something to eat. As he entered the large room, he heard a sound that made him pause. It sounded like someone crying.

He followed the sound and found ghost sitting in a corner, weeping. Soap approached him, feeling a surge of compassion.

"What's wrong?" Asked soap gently.

Ghost looked up, his eyes red and puffy. "I don't know," he said. "I just feel so overwhelmed and alone. I don't have anyone to talk to, and I don't know what to do."

Soap sat next to him and put his arm around him. "It's okay," he said. "You're not alone. I'm here for you. We'll figure something out."

Ghost continued to cry, but his tears has changed from despair to one's of comfort and relief. Soap listened as ghost talked about his problems, offering advice and words of encouragement.

When ghost had finished talking, soap gave him a hug. "Feeling better now?"

Ghost nodded. "Thank you," he said. "I'm so glad I found you."

Soap smiled. "Me too," he said

Together they walked out of the mess hall, arm in arm, both feeling a little bit better.

Bonus

John soap MacTavish, a solider, was feeling a little lonely. He had come home from his last deployment to an empty house, with no one to greet him. He was sitting in his bedroom, in the dark, when suddenly he noticed someone sitting in the corner of his room.

He couldn't make out the figure, but he could tell it was a man. As he inches closer, he recognised the figure to be that of his comrade simon ghost Riley.

Soap was surprised to see him there, but he didn't hesitate. He slowly walked towards ghost, and before he even realised it, he had placed his lips on his.

Soap was taken aback by the suddenness of his own actions, but he felt a warmth that he hadn't felt in a long time. He felt an emotional connection, one that he had been missing since coming home.

Ghost seemed to feel it too. He gently placed his hands on soap's waist and returned the kiss. They stayed like that for a few moments, lingering in the moment.

When they finally broke away ghost told soap he had waited for him. Soap had come home to an empty house, but he had found a companion in ghost.

Soap smiled, and they both knew that they had found something special.

Their embrace lasted until the early hours of the morning, and soap knew that he wouldn't be alone anymore.
