"You do know that if by any chance we get caught we're dead?" Kyle complained from behind the driver's wheel.

"Oh shut up and pay attention, you missed the turn," Adrian replied board. Kyle swore and took the next left turn on Kennedy. Adrian quickly changed to the rap station on the radio from the alternative when it went on commercial.

"Turn it up!" Kyle demanded as both boys heard the beginning of the song Can't Hold Us. Adrian turned the dial up until the volume was just below ear shattering; the bass making the speakers shake the car. Kyle hand to contain himself from breaking out in a dance since he was the one driving unlike Adrian was doing an awkward little number sitting down.

Kyle has always been a dancer, he even stared a dance crew, that Adrian is a part, of two years ago, and that's how he crashed Adrian's car last year when he let him borrow it because his had needed new tires. He started dancing to a song in his seat and the next he knew he rear-ended the Buick in front of him. That's why he tries not to listen to any lively music while driving-and why I Adrian had no car. Less than half way through Kyle was getting way too into the song so Adrian changed the station again to the R&B one. Slow, relaxing Diana Ross blasted into the car; Adrian turned the volume back down to a normal level and the rest of the ride passed uneventfully.

When the boys finally got to the fair it was already 3 o'clock. They bypassed the admissions booth and went straight to the entrance to give the lady our free tickets from school. They casually made their way through the crowds and clusters of small shops and games-playing a few as they went-to the side of the fairgrounds decided to rides. They found the rest of Kyle's dance crew-Leo, Rose, Dylan and Katie-at the first ticket booth like Kyle explained to them in his earlier text. It was easy to find them thanks to Dylan's bright red hair and height; he's impossible to lose in any crowd.

"Hey guys, how long have you been here?" Adrian asked them as he and Kyle joined them in line.

"A few minutes, more or less," Katie replied, her blue dyed hair was gathered under her cap with a few strands poking out.

"And guess who we saw walk past just a few seconds ago Kyle," Leo said mischievously; a glean in his hazel eyes.

"Who?" Kyle asked.

"Jake," Leo drawled out in a sing-song voice.

It was about four years ago at the beginning of freshman year when Kyle finally came out to everyone that he was gay. Up until then only Adrian knew about it since Adrian happened to be Kyle's first crush; it was awkward when it first came up but now the boys just laugh every time they look back at that moment.

"Really! Which way did he go?" Kyle asked excitedly.

"Now don't you even think about leaving us to go talk to him! You're my ride home; I don't want to get stranded here without you!" Adrian told him sternly.

"But why can't I talk to him if we run into each other?!" Kyle complained.

"I didn't say you couldn't talk to him, I said don't leave us to talk to him," Adrian said, correcting himself.

"Yay, does that mean we can search for him!"

"Sure, whatever."

"And apparently there's some dance competition around five," Rose said. "But we have to sign up before four to join and the practices are at four-thirty." Her unruly hair was braided in corn-rolls and her dark skin was already starting to show signs of sweat; Rose just moved to Florida last year and is still getting used to the heat.
