"Ahh...? You want to know what it was like?" I asked Maple.
"Of course I do." Maple answered "Being born into such a big role leads to no ordinary life."
"Well... I was not really born into it" I corrected her "I mean, in some way maybe I was, but I was not exactly meant to be what I am today."
"I'm interested. Please tell me more." Maple asked.
--------------------------------------------------------------
When I was born, my sister used to take care of me all the time. She was 15 by the time I was born. We had quite a big age difference.
What I was too young to understand was that I was born into a family of criminals. They were in quite a popular criminal group, and my sister was leading it, only aged 15.
By the time she was 17, the Hades incident took place, and she was the representative of the criminal group my family was in.
She lost though, but the winner was quite found of her, so our family was going to be alright without her.
That's what my parents used to think anyways. They didn't expect the winner, who introduced himself as Meister, to come to them and make the demand he did that day.
He demanded of them to give him their second daughter, so that he can raise her as his own.
I don't know what my parents thought of that at first, but all I know was that they gave in at the end.
That was the start of it all... My sister...
It breaks my heart that I don't remember her...
Well, I do know her. But it's nothing form my memories with her.
Meister and his servants made sure to remind me every day what she was like.
They insisted that I dressed just like her, ate her favorite food, had a hairstyle she wore when she died.
It was not pleasent. And I think they realized that. At some point, they stopped doing that stuff. I think that I was about 7 years old.
Some of it I stopped the moment I got the chance. Some of things I kept, both in the memory of my sister and because I liked it myself.
But one thing stuck. They compared me to my sister every time they got a chance.
However I did not complain, everything other than that was perfect.
I was told that I'm going to be the head of the organization one day and that I need to learn everything about it. That always made me excited.
For most kids, something like blood, violence and murder was scary, but I grew to enjoy it overtime. I'm supposed to be the head of the criminal organization after all. What good would it do if I was afraid of blood?
I wasn't exactly what you would call... Normal.
I mean... I didn't really know that that kind of things were as bad as people say they are.
But can you really blame me. I wasn't really allowed outside. I spent about 3 years in a mansion without any contact to the outside world.
However, one day, a lady, who's name I don't remember, (I do remember that she had a hairstyle similar to the one I see a lot now) was tasked to take me to visit the houses that were raising assassins at that time. That was the first time I went out in years.
She told me that one of them was going to be my personal bodyguard for a time. She also told me that it might be more than that.
Anyhow, she took me to a lot of houses. I met a lot of kids. I didn't like any of them though. They all seemed too... Boring... All they wanted to do was show off in front of me... It felt like my presence was making them act unnatural.
