Ame and Yuho had been on the road for hours, walking in silence as they made their way deeper into the forest. The sun had started to set, casting long shadows across the forest floor.
Ame couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as they walked. He had been avoiding the topic for some time now, but he knew it was time to bring it up.
"Yuho," he finally spoke up, his voice quiet but firm.
Yuho turned her head towards him, her expression curious.
"I know we've been walking for a long time, but I need to talk to you about something."
Yuho nodded, her eyes locking onto Ame's.
"Ame, what is it?"
Ame hesitated for a moment before finally finding the words.
"I know we've been through a lot together, but I can't help but feel like there's something you're not telling me."
Yuho's eyes widened slightly in surprise, her mouth opening to speak but no words came out.
Ame continued, his voice growing more urgent.
"I just want to know, Yuho. What happened to you before we met? Why are you out here all alone?"
Yuho looked down at the ground, her eyes filling with tears.
"I...I can't tell you, Ame. It's too painful."
Ame stepped closer to her, his hand reaching out to gently touch her shoulder.
"Please, Yuho. You don't have to go through this alone. Whatever it is, I'm here for you."
Yuho shook her head, her voice barely above a whisper.
"It's not that simple, Ame. I...I can't talk about it."
Ame sighed, his heart heavy with the weight of their unspoken words.
"I understand, Yuho. But please know that you can trust me. I won't judge you or think any less of you."
Yuho looked up at him, her eyes shining with gratitude.
"Thank you, Ame. It means a lot to me."
Ame nodded, a small smile forming on his lips.
"Of course, Yuho. We're in this together, remember?"
Yuho nodded, her own smile appearing on her face.
"Right. Together."
As they continued their journey through the forest, Ame couldn't shake the feeling of sadness that lingered in the air. He knew that Yuho was holding back something important, something that was causing her so much pain.
But for now, all he could do was be there for her and hope that one day she would feel comfortable enough to share her story with him.
