Ame and Yuho continued to walk deeper into the forest, following the winding path that lay before them. The sun was beginning to set, casting an orange glow across the sky and illuminating the trees around them. As they walked, Ame couldn't help but feel a sense of melancholy wash over him.
He had spent so many years wandering through the forest, watching as it slowly decayed and faded away. But with Yuho by his side, he couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of purpose. She saw the beauty in everything around her, even the things that Ame had long ago given up on.
"Look, Ame!" Yuho exclaimed, pointing to a small patch of mushrooms growing by the side of the path. "They're so pretty!"
Ame looked at the mushrooms, but all he saw were rot and decay. He knew that they were probably poisonous and dangerous, but he couldn't bring himself to spoil Yuho's joy.
"They are beautiful," he replied with a soft smile.
As they continued to walk, Ame noticed that the forest was changing. The trees were growing taller and thicker, and the underbrush was becoming denser. He knew that they were entering a more dangerous part of the forest, but he didn't want to worry Yuho.
"Yuho, we need to be careful," he said, trying to sound as reassuring as possible. "This part of the forest is more dangerous. There are animals and other things that could hurt us."
Yuho nodded, but she didn't seem scared. "I know, Ame. But we have each other, and that's all that matters, right?"
Ame smiled again, feeling a warmth in his chest. He had never had anyone to rely on before, but with Yuho by his side, he felt like anything was possible.
As they walked further into the forest, the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting the world around them into darkness. Ame could hear the sounds of animals moving in the underbrush, but Yuho didn't seem to notice.
"Ame, do you think there are any fireflies around here?" Yuho asked, her voice full of wonder.
Ame looked around, but all he saw was darkness. He couldn't see anything, but he could feel the world around him. He could hear the sounds of the animals, the rustling of leaves, and the whisper of the wind.
"I don't know, Yuho," he replied. "But we can keep looking."
And so, they continued their journey through the forest, Ame guiding Yuho through the darkness. Even though he couldn't see, he felt like he was finally seeing the forest in a new light, through Yuho's eyes. He knew that their journey was just beginning, but he was excited to see where the path ahead would lead them.
To be continued...
