Dream likes you. Very much. He always visits your dreams at night, watching you. It might seem creepy...ok it is...but he just wants you to be safe. And happy. ̶A̶n̶d̶ ̶l̶o̶v̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶h̶i̶m̶

I said some quick goodbyes to my friends. They were suspicious that I was in such a hurry, but I had a date! Well...ok. Not really a date. But I had somewhere important to be. Y/n's dreams! I rushed to their AU. They lived in Underfell. It wasn't very positive, but their positivity was the thing that caught my attention. While everyone was busy brooding, they were calmly reading a book. While visiting Fell's AU in search of my brother, I found y/n smiling, eating a donut while reading a book called The Fable.
I talked with them for a little bit, asked about their book. They said it was a twisted romance with the prince being fairly toxic to the princess. He let no one touch her in fear just one slip up would break her. He kept her locked in a glass case like a porcelain doll. I couldn't help but relate to the story. I wanted to protect y/n. They were the gold in a coal mine. The treasure in the sunken ship. My soulmate.
I stood over their sleeping form. They were peaceful except for the occasional twitch. Their lips were parted slightly. The urge to place a quick peck was strong, but I wanted our first kiss to be special. I used my magic.

The sky was tinted orange as the fire shined light against the smoke. Y/n was on the ground amidst the scorching flames, curled into a ball and weeping. The heat of the flame licked their skin and the light bathed them in a horrifying, golden light. Dream didn't believe it. How hadn't he noticed their negativity. Were they even producing any? He ran through the flames, his boots stomped heavily against the burning grounds. This fire couldn't hurt him. It was a dream. He picked them up bridal style. They squirmed in his arms, fear filling them with adrenaline. "Y/n," he soothed. They froze. Their e/c eyes widened as they met the skeleton's golden lights. "D-Dream-? What-?" He placed a finger to their lips, hushing them. He wanted to keep it their, the warmth reaching his phalange through the gloves he wore being addicting. So he did. The flames began to die down, although they still flickered. "I was worried for you, love," he cooed. "Are you alright?" His bone-brows furrowed in concern as he set them on the ground to examine their form, missing their warmth. "I could ask you the same...Dream what are you doing here? The flames they-" Y/n stopped, choking back a sob. "They could've hurt you, or worse! You're such an idiot," they frowned, standing up. "Y/n they aren't real. This is just a Nightmare. Calm down, please." He smiled. They cared for him. He felt butterflies in his non-existent stomach.
"A dream...?" Their e/c eyes widened. They sighed. "God. I just made a fool of myself then," they muttered covering their embarrassed face with their hands. "It's fine, y/n. You aren't a fool," Dream chuckled at their embarrassed form. They were so cute. He just wished that it was from something he had flirted instead of humiliation. They hugged themselves, looking to him. "Don't you have to be in the same room if you want to visit dreams?" They tilted their head. Dream stuttered, "ah-uhm. You see-Im-uhh." He cursed under his breath. Y/n laughed. The flames were completely gone now. "It's fine, Dream." They smiled, walking up to the flustered skeleton. He froze as they came closer and closer to his mouth. Were they about to-?
They pecked his cheekbone. "Thanks for saving me, 'hero,'" they giggled, getting the most of his flustered state.
'Oh dear....' Dream thought, 'that was...attractive....'
