Kyra slunk into Brockett's classroom a few minutes late and found everyone already standing in pairs across from each other, except for Alexander, who was leaning boredly against one of the desks at the edge of the room, arms folded. When he saw her, he straightened up and gestured his head towards their usual spot in the far corner, walking away.
Following, she approached in time to hear Alexander tell Jacob Lehrmann, a whiny but decent Ravenclaw who already standing there to move from their spot. Jacob cleared off in a huff.
She was beaten even more quickly this time. Alexander had her in ropes before she could cast five spells. Painfully sitting up, Kyra rubbed the back of her head, and ignored Alexander's outstretched hand.
"So, your training isn't going great, then?" he said with a slight smile.
"You are my training," she responded cryptically.
Getting to her feet, she brushed off her skirt, and then went to gather her bag. Brockett let them leave the class once their duel was finished, which meant that a lot of people were deliberately rubbish, eschewing dignity for a free period.
Looking around the room, she could see that at least three pairs had already left. Grace was still duelling Clara, a whip-smart Ravenclaw girl with green hair. On the opposite end of the room, Michael, her ex-situationship, was locked in fierce combat with a timid Slytherin boy.
Kyra wasn't great at silent spells, but she focused her attention and managed to send a silent stunning spell Michael's way. The Slytherin boy stood over his body in shock, wand dangling loosely, as Brockett came over to congratulate him on his victory.
Smiling, Kyra turned around and briefly caught Alexander's eye. "Not a word," she threatened, brushing past him.
