Chapter 16

B/n's pov;
"Can I sit, I won't take long." His transition came through.

Me and Aria look at each other then back at the man and nodded. He came over to the chair and sat down."I remember you, you were the driver of the van who hit my sister." I said.

"That's what I wanted to talk to you about... I just wanted you to know that I tried to stop the van when I saw you, Aria. I slammed on the breaks and I still ended up hitting you. I feel guilty about it, and it kills the hell out of my stomach knowing I hit a kid, that I was trying to save.. That was never my intention to hit you with the van, and I deeply apologize for that. I don't ask for forgiveness now, but I hope down the road you will forgive me." He said, before bowing his head to my sister.

I kept my mouth shut for this one, this isn't my decision to make for her. I'll support her decision.

"I can't forget what you did, but I appreciate you explaining. And I'm glad to know you were trying to stop and not hit me, I'm also at fault for not looking both ways when crossing the street. I can't forgive you right now, but I'm willing to forgive you when I trust you a bit more." She said.

He picked up his head. "Thank you, and I promise we'll find your brother the best we can.".

"Thank you," Aria said.

"Be careful around our brother. He will kill you if he knows you guys were the ones that took us. He won't show any mercy." I said.

He nods. "Understood,".

"What's your name? We didn't catch it." Aria said.

"Hajime Sugoroku,".

Me and Aria looked at each other surprised. "By any chance, are you related to Hitoshi Sugoroku?" I asked.

He looked surprised and looked between us. "His my little brother.. How do you know him.".

"We went to the same school, and his friends with our older brother." I said.

"Can you tell me if you saw my brother left that school okay or saw him died or as a walker." He said.

I think back to when we were in school and it hit me. "Yeah, I saw him.. I saw him turn a hard left when exiting the school gate." Hajime looked relieved to hear that from me. "I don't know if his still alive or not, but if knowing that puts your mind at ease then telling you that information was worth telling.".

"Thank you... I'll leave you guys to rest now " He said, before getting up from his seat and left the room.

Y/n's pov;
~Huge jumpskip to a month later~

This past month has been interesting. Me, Hitoshi, Navarin, and the kids managed to get weapons. I found them bags, knives in holsters plus pocket knives for them, then five compound bows and arrow quivers filled with arrows. The kids will have to learn to shoot with adult bows and arrows plus fight with adult knives since kids weapons are gone. While I found weapons, Hitoshi and Navarin found archery targets to practice on. Teaching them how to shoot was actually easier than I thought, Navarin and Hitoshi caught on very quickly, but the kids on the other hand were having trouble pulling back the bows string since adult bows requires more arm strength than the children's bows. Navarin, Hitoshi, and the kids worked hard, and they got it down pretty well, Navarin and Hitoshi can hit the dot in the middle of the target and they've killed some walkers and two Sliver corner people without my help. Even though the kids can hit the target, they're not hitting the middle dot of the target, which took a while for the kids to get it down but they did it. Now they can kill walkers and Sliver corner people without my help, but I still keep an eye on them since they're still childern.
