Chapter 11.

It was a beautiful day... The birds were being birds, the foliage was growing the way it was supposed to.

And I had a ring in my back pocket to propose to my boyfriend with. At this point, we had been together for a good bit of years (4-5). I felt confident doing this. I loved Killer too much to chicken out.

Also... I just needed to let him know I was serious about our love. We hung out in my room so much. We cuddled, watched his favorite anime's. I read books during thunderstorms, while he was asleep beside me.

There was no way I wasn't doing this now.

The stars sparkled in the skies, barely outshined by the street lamps. Killer and I had eaten out, and were on our way home. You see... I was going to propose to him in the garden, the place where we became a couple in the first place.

"I love how pretty it is tonight," Killer said, lacing his fingers with mine. "It's a shame we can barely see the stars..."

"I know a place in the garden we can go of you wanna see some stars," I said.

"Sure. Or I could just go stare at Dream or Blue or Ink sleeping."

I flicked his forehead. "Come on, Kills. Don't be creepy."

Killer shrugged. "I thought Blue was into people who watched him sleep."

I squeezed him. "You're mine..."

"Oh, believe me, I know. You remind me every New Year."

I chuckled, knowing how true that was. I did in fact remind him every 1st of January that I am his, and he is mine. But he usually flicks my forehead and falls asleep.

We reached the winding pathway toward my castle. After a while, we turned and went down another winding pathway. This one led to the garden I loved so much. Dust loved it, too. He and Cross were the ones who tended to it after they joined.

It was dark. A very gentle breeze carried through the air. I opened the gate under the hedge arch and let Killer in before me.

"It's so pretty in here..."

"Come. I want to show you the place I was talking about."

I led him up to a grassy knoll, where you could look out onto the horizon. Millions- well, billions, really- of little stars speckled the sky. Killer stared in awe.

"THE STARS ARE SO PRETTY!" he cried, continuing to stare at them.

This was my chance. I knelt down, taking a deep breath.

"Killer... I love you, y'know. Your smile shines brighter than all the stars in existence."

He turned to me and gasped.

"Nighty..."

"Killer... Will you marry me?"

Killer looked away. Was he okay? But then I could see black tears sliding down his cheeks. He was at a loss for words. But he still nodded.

I smiled, taking his hand and kissing it. I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
