Chapter 5

"Is everything all right, Boss?"

"I'm fine."

I was; I had been forcing myself not to think about Killer for the past few months. Maybe Dream was right when he said I should just tell him... 

"Hmm... If you say so. You seem very Boss-ish today."

"Thanks, Horror..."

It's the three dumbasses I live with that make me happy. Killer, Dust, Horror... Maybe Cross from time to time. Error, of course, is my best friend, but I haven't seen him in a bit. 

What could he be up to? 

"Error, open up."

No response. He must not be home. Either that, or he's:

A.) Ignoring me

B.) Asleep

C.) Become a dumbass

For my sake, I hope it's not a C case... But you never know with Error anymore. 

"Error, are you awake?"

No response. 

"DON'T IGNORE ME, ERROR."

No response. 

I'm afraid... 

It's most definitely a C case... 

I opened the door. 

Error was home. He sat on his bed, letting an ecstatic Ink draw on his face with some sort of makeup. Well, this wasn't any of my three cases... 

But how did Ink get here...? Oh, wait, isn't the guy the same guy who literally goes anywhere he wants? No regards. He just does. 

"Error..."

Ink held a finger up to his mouth to shush me. 

"His nails are drying. And I need to concentrate or I'll mess up and he'll be mad."

"I bet Dream told you to do this..."

"Well, he inspired me to."

"Close enough."

Error sat still. The amount of patience he has with his boyfriend makes me smile. Ink seems annoying. 

"Done! Just wait a minute before you move, Ruru."

Error stared at him curiously. 

"Oh, you can talk now, by the way. That's what you were staring at me like that for, isn't it?"

"Well, I never understood why you wanted me silent in the first place, Kiki."

Ink chuckled. "If they'd heard you, the others would've come and seen your beauty before I was finished with you."

I stared at Error weirdly. He just looked back at me. 

"Well, hello, Nightmare."

"Hey, Ink, Error."

"You were looking for me?"

"It can wait. I just haven't seen you in a bit. That's all."

I headed for my own room, trying to process what I just saw. Error had extreme patience. 

... 

... 

And if I got my way... 

... 

... 

I would, too.
