eye of a storm

The soft raindrops hit the window. A pitter patter sound was made as big, fat drops slowly slipped down the glass. You'd always loved the rain, watching the drops race down the window.

Camp was quiet today. Activities were canceled and everyone was huddled in their cabins to escape the wetness. A soft sigh escaped your lips as you sat by your cabins window and stared out to the grey sky, admiring your favorite weather.

Thoughts rumbled in your brain like the thunder outside. A book was between your palms, but your eyes were unfocused on the words. For no reason at all, you felt lonely. Your whole cabin was in their beds or scattered around the floor, but you were alone. You had your book in hand,
filled with your comfort characters, but you were alone. You were in your happy place, with your family in your home with the storm just inches away, but you were alone. At the moment, you didn't quite understand where these thoughts came from. Your siblings blamed the sulk of your mood on the drowsy weather, but you knew that wasn't it.

Alone is the wrong word. You were lonely.

You weren't even upset. Just a little out of it.

Your thoughts were wiped away as your eyes refocused, seeing a silhouette sprinting across the muddy grass. As the figure approached your cabin, you stood up from your seated position and walked towards the door, pulling it open before the boy even reached your cabin.

As soon as you saw Leo's toothy grin getting closer and closer you felt the corners of your mouth begin to creep upwards and the lonelyness slip away. The door slammed shut before your feet carried you to him. A small giggle escaped your lips as your body's slammed into one another, your legs wrapping around his torso as his hands found your waist. The world around you spun as he spun you around. His light giggles matched yours and his smile seemed to grow as came to a stop, staring into your eyes as your fingers played with his hair, his hands still firmly gripping your waist. Your lips connected to form a soft and delicate kiss, his lips warm.

The two of you stayed there for a while. Laughing and dancing as the thunder crashed around you. Your hair was dripping and your clothes stuck to your skin but you didn't mind. You liked it.

Everyone feels lonely sometimes. Everyone has those days that just feel empty, yet there's nothing to blame it on. It's just...kinda a crash in your brain. Like when the lighting crashes into the ground for no reason.

But there's always something, always one part of your day that will pull you back out of the storm and into the eye because a storm doesn't last forever.

For you, that was him.

Hey. it's been a while. this year has been crazy for me so i'm sorry i've been so inactive. i've had such writers block and have kinda just stuck to reading for some comfort in my few minutes of free time.

I don't really know if this chapter makes much sense, but it did to me. i didn't really think i just kind of wrote yk? anyways, i know no one rly reads this book but i honestly do want to start writing again bc i think it's good for my mental health.

If you have any requests or ideas PLEASE let me know, it would help a lot.

Oh also, someone messaged me and told me that they loved this and hoped i kept writing and that was actually one of the reasons i'm continuing so thank you so much like that made me so happy and it really meant a lot.

Again sorry for this goof of a chapter and sorry if it is confusing or it doesn't make sense, it's kinda an inside thought kinda thing i'm not really sure.

okay bye beans 🫘
much love and remember, it's okay to feel lonely. we all need to crash sometimes. even nature needs to cry (or Zeus)
