I know i said i'd try to post this soon. Well, it looks like that was a shameless lie, sorry about that. At least here it is now
someone in the comments gave me the idea to write a part about schlatt looking for tubbo, but tbh i don't wanna write anymore so... i guess i'll leave that to your imagination. This story is all about wilbur and tubbo after all! oblivious father and son bonding time, lets go
-------------------------------
"Good morning, time to wake up!"
Tubbo slowly opened his eyes, blinking lazily and trying to see something in the soft light that came from his left. Slightly obstructing the light, a silhouette moved constantly, walking, crouching, getting up, and walking again.
"... Papa?"
A nervous laugh escaped from the mysterious figure. "No, no. Not yet. I'm Wilbur, remember? Today we're gonna go find your dad."
The lamb sat up on the bed, rubbing his eyes with both hands and stretching out on the mattress. Tubbo looked at the ground for a few seconds, rewinding yesterday's events in his head.
"I miss papa."
"And so we're going to go find him, so get up and get ready to walk, because I have a feeling we have a long day ahead."
Tubbo got up, carefully getting off the bed and suddenly remembering... Oh!
He quickly peeked into his pocket. Empty. Right.
The lamb then ran a little further into the cave, ignoring Wilbur's confused question upon seeing him do so, and crouched down next to the hole where he had put the flower in. There was his little companion, sitting on the tulip that was already beginning to look a little withered.
"Don't worry, I'll get you a new flower soon." He promised quietly so only she could hear, pulling the plant along with the insect out of the hole and putting it back in his pocket.
"What are you doing?" Wilbur's voice, suddenly behind him startled him, making him let out a little shriek and cover the pocket of his overalls with his hands.
"N-nothing!" He didn't quite know why he was hiding his friend, when now he seemed sure that Wilbur was not going to hurt him or her, but his mind had stayed in the mode of protecting the bee. Tubbo had almost forgotten that this wasn't his papa, and he had no idea if Wilbur liked bees or not.
The man raised an eyebrow at the lamb, deciding to drop the subject as he remembered an important part of the situation, which he had surprisingly forgotten.
"Hey kid- mmh. Uh, you haven't told me your name yet."
Tubbo's eyes widened at the statement. He hadn't? Well, Wilbur hadn't asked!
"My name is Tubbo." He replied cheerfully, getting up from the ground. "I'm hungry, Wilbur."
The man sighed when he heard him, not bothering to contain a little smile that made its way to his face.
"Well... I think there's some leftover stew from last night, just in case you want to eat that, or we could go get something else outside."
"No, I would like to eat stew!" The boy quickly replied, also remembering how good the meal had been yesterday.
Wilbur nodded, proceeding to go to the bucket where he had cooked dinner last night and picking up one of the wooden bowls he had set aside. Tubbo was too busy looking forward to a new plate of nice food to notice that the man had just emptied the entire contents of the bucket into the bowl he offered, meaning there wouldn't be enough for both of them.
