While Gabriella held on to Amelia, Cedric and Max came over to see if she was alright. Cedric came over to the left of Amelia with Max on her right trying to separate Gabriella from Amelia. But with no luck since Amelia was holding onto Gabby just as tight as Gabby was to Amelia.
"Hey there." Cedric said softly. Amelia turned her head slowly to look at Cedric who was leaning over her and Gabby who were now in a tight embrace on the ground. "Hey." Amelia gave Cedric a sweet smile, one she flashed to everyone but this time her heart was in it. And he could tell. Amelia couldn't help but think about how happy she was to see her new friends again, all while Cedric's face started to look like a tomato.
"Gabriella Cerys Foxglove." Max said, finally getting his sister attention. Amelia's eyes shot open and she knew what that third name was, Gabriella's middle name. At home Amelia's mom would use it on her a lot.
Gabriella was giving her brother a deadly glare. Amelia knew it had been long enough and she let go. Gabriella quickly spun her head to look at Amelia. Noticing Gabriella's concern Amelia told her it was okay with a gentle and happy smile. Amelia helped Gabriella get up by grabbing the undersides of her arms and lifting her up with her gently. The two girls were able to communicate without words and knew their friendship would last a long time.
Everette got the hint that when Amelia helped Gabriella up and looked at him. He started to lead the two girls to their room since the boys couldn't enter the girls dormitory but luckily for Everette, Hufflepuff's female prefect meet the group at the entrance of the girls dormitory. She took them further in allowing Everette to go back to his classes. " I am one of the six Hufflepuff prefects Jannie Allan. And you Amelia, you'll be spending your first year at Hogwarts with a few other first years including Gabriella here." Jannie explained.
The three girls walked down a corridor until the leading girl shortly stopped at a door across from another door in a corridor full of doors. She opened the door and inside the room was cozy. The room was round filled with tons of plants and a lit fire place. The walls were painted with a light warm yellow and dark stained wood beams lined the room. There were three beds all with four posts and sheer white curtains on them. The beds were covered in patched up quilts and Amelia's luggage sat at the foot of the bed in the middle.
The bed was almost right in front of the door with walking space on both sides. It was a thin and long bed that Amelia wouldn't find too uncomfortable since her bed at home is very similar. "So what do you think Millie, cozy right, perfect for sleep overs." Gabriella said as she went over to her bed and jumped up on it in a seated position. "It's nice, better since I'll be sharing it with you." Amelia responded to Gabriella as she joined her on her bed.
"All right I'll leave you guys, gotta get became to my classes." Jannie said. Jannie left the girls to get comfortable and unpack.
"How are you?" Gabriella blurted out at Amelia. Amelia new this question was coming, in fact she expected it to have been asked sooner. "I'm alright, I was in the woods all night so it was pretty scary. I mean I walked around for hours before anything found me, luckily I ran into some nice centaurs. And you won't believe what happens after that..." Amelia explained her whole night in the forest to Gabriella who listened without missing a single word as Amelia talked so fast her mouth had trouble keeping up.
When Amelia was finally done with her story she looked down at her feet as she slowly swung them back and forth. But when she looked a little further she saw a large blob of brown and something like a tail swaying around. "Leo!" Amelia recognized her cat immediately. She got down and picked him up so quick he got scared.
As Amelia reconnected with her cat she turned around to Gabriella. Leo's claws were in Amelia's chin and he was trying to bite her nose. "Where can one take a bath around here?" Amelia felt grimy from her night in the forest and was hoping to get that off before going to bed. "Let's go together, there are showers further down the hall, just bring a towel and your pajamas.
Amelia and Gabriella grabbed their things and headed down to the shower room to clean up. When the two where all done they walked back to their room and got ready for bed. The two layers in bed talking about what they would do during the school year and what they might learn.
"Goodnight Gabby."
"Goodnight Millie."
As the girls drifted off into sleep Amelia remembered the thing she never saw in the forest. The thing following and watching her. The thing in the dark.
☆ A/N Sorry about the long break I just decided to wait until my summer break to continue writing and since I've only got two more regents I finished this chapter and I hope to put out another next week. Thank you to all who have been reading and see you next week.
