The next morning Amelia woke up to the shining sunlight coming through the small semi-circle windows at the top of the room that showed the fields of yellow and white dandelions. A bright sun peaking over the horizon, looking at the clock on the wall, hanging above the door, it's hour hand on the seven and its minute hand a little past the twelve. The seconds hand quickly racing it's way around the face of the clock. Amelia looked up at the ceiling above her bed, through the frame of the four poster bed. The ceilings were lined with wooden beams. The curtains pulled around the sides of the bed to block the light from getting in.
The room was like a magical fantasy and Amelia still hadn't gotten the hang of seeing all the decorations, crown molding and furnishings. Everything made her feel like she was living in a fairytale. One she had dreamed of since she was little, pushed aside by her mother wanting her to live outside of her head whilst all Amelia wanted was to dream, of magic, dragons, and fairies. A magician riding a dragon through the clouds, Amelia always imagined that's what she was when they traveled to see her extended family for holidays. The dream of living free, away from society, away from the constant need to get good grades and fit into the world around her. Amelia wanted to fly whilst her mother wanted her to walk.
Amelia always loved the imaginary, the only things that could take her away from her gray life were her books. The books she would sneak out to buy with her allowance then always got caught reading, eventually, having been taken away from her because they spoke of the fantastical imagery Amelia so adored. Staring at the room around her in the early morning was like reading one of those books, without the worry of being caught doing so. Feeling the happiest she ever had since she was a child Amelia sprung up out of bed with a smile on her face, a smile that would light up a room. A smile she had on her face since arriving at Hogwarts.
As Amelia sat up and pushed the curtains aside she saw a half awake Gabriella in the bed across from her. She was grumbling and rolling around so unhappy to get up. Leo practically doing the same thing, instead it was on Amelia's bed.
"Good morning Gabby." Amelia said.
"Five more minutes." Gabriella said as she rolled to face the opposite way. Amelia just giggled at her friends reluctance to get up.
"Come on we have to get up, for what I have no clue." Amelia walked over to Gabriella's bed and tied the curtains to the side. When Gabriella opened one eye she saw Amelia smiling over her looking down, the sun shining behind her made her look heavenly.
"Get up." Amelia repeated and when Gabriella closed her eyes she shook her.
"Stop." Gabriella said quietly and when Amelia didn't she finally opened her eyes and glared at her.
"Alright well, I'm going to get dressed." Amelia turned around but didn't move. She turned back to Gabriella who was now sitting up in her bed. "What are we supposed to wear?" Amelia asked and Gabriella looked at her like she was dumb. Amelia just shrugged.
