"Y/N take a drink." Glenn says, offering her a half-full water bottle.

She shakes her head, adjusting Judith to her other arm. "Give it to Maggie."

Glenn sighs. "Y/N, you need it."

"Give it to Maggie." She repeats firmly.

He does, reluctantly. She takes a small sip before handing it to Y/N. She also takes a sip and pours a little into Judy's mouth.

Y/N glances at her close friend. Maggie sighs before she speaks quietly, voice only audible to Y/N who stands beside her.

"I never thought she was alive. I just didn't. After daddy... I couldn't. I had hoped that she was still out there but... then finding out that she was, and then seeing her die right in front of me that same day... I don't know if I wanna fight it anymore." She says, her voice breaking, as she speaks about her sister.

Y/N swallows the little saliva in her mouth, nervously. She hands Judith to Glenn and pulls Maggie away from the others. "You do." She says softly at first. Maggie doesn't respond.

"You do. That's who you are." Y/N says again.

A tear slides down Maggie's face. "It's just... after Archer-"

Y/N shuts her eyes as she thinks about him. The man who saved her in the very beginning. Who she kissed after the pharmacy incident. Who helped her get with Glenn. Who she had to watch die by the hands of her own brother.

Having to tell Maggie that he was dead was one of the hardest things she's ever had to do. She felt responsible. She still does.

Maggie continues after a moment. "Archer died. My daddy died. Beth died. I didn't get to say goodbye. To any of them. I've lost everyone, Y/N."

Y/N shakes her head, wiping the tear off Maggie's face. "No. You haven't lost us. We all love you. We all care about you. You mean so much to us. Archer, Beth, your dad, they want you to keep going. Live for them."

Her advice is something her own father told her back in the dungeons of Woodbury, before he died. Survive for everyone else.

Maggie nods, hugging Y/N after a moment. "Thank you."

"Dad, look." Carl says, pointing a little ways up the road.

It's been a few hours since the talk with Maggie. Their steps have gotten slower. Their bodies, more exhausted. Each minute that passes by is torturous.

Y/N squints her eyes to look at where Carl points and her eyebrows furrow in confusion.

Rick gets out his gun. The others follow suit. They quickly walk towards the sight.

Water. A lot of it.

Prepackaged bottles and jugs sit in the middle of the road. A piece of paper lays on top.

From a friend.

Y/N so badly wants to rip open the pack and dump the water into her dry mouth but knows better.

This could be a trap. After Terminus. After the governor. This isn't the way to go.

Rick shakes his head. "We're not doing this." He says, reading the thirsty minds of the group. "We don't know who left it."

Eugene speaks up. "If that's a trap, we already happen to be in it. But I, for one, would like to think that it is indeed, from a friend."

"What if it isn't? What if they put something in it?" Carol asks, voice empty.

Nobody speaks.

Suddenly Eugene bends down and picks up a bottle.

"Eugene." Rosita warns.

"What are you doing, dude?" Tara asks.

Eugene shrugs, opening the bottle. "Quality assurance." He tries to take a sip but Y/N slaps it out of his hand.

"Are you fucking crazy?" She asks, even though she knows the answer to that question.

The others stand silently. Rick finally speaks. "We can't."

Out of nowhere, thunder rumbles across the sky. They all look up, with hope. Another clap of thunder and then the miracle they've all been wishing for.

Water.

Rain pours down onto their sweaty, malnourished, dehydrated bodies.

Some smile. Some laugh. Some stand quietly.

Y/N, lays down on the concrete, opening her mouth to try and soak up every last drop of rainwater.

Carl bounces Judith with a laugh.

After their brief moment of happiness, they quickly jump into action, grabbing any container they can find, filling it with water.

The thunder gets louder. Lighting strikes. Carl protects Judith's head with his hat.

Rick looks in the distance, face dropping. The clouds look dark. Too dark. A massive storm is rolling in, fast.

Daryl suddenly shouts over the roaring noise. "There's a barn."

He leads them to some place he found shortly before, on his search for water.

They enter, checking the place for walkers. There's one very decayed female that Maggie takes care of.

Once it's clear, the others enter.

The build a small fire. A few old-fashioned oil lanterns sit around the dim structure.

Thunder claps. Lighting flashes. Rain slams against the roof.

Y/N leans against Glenn's shoulder.

Rick glances at his kids, asleep near him. Carol nods toward them. "He'll be okay. He bounces back more than any of us."

Rick nods, twisting a stick in his hand. "I used to feel sorry for kids that have to grow up now. In this. But I think I got it wrong. Growing up is getting used to the world. This is easier for them."

Michonne leans against the wooden wall. "This isn't the world."

Y/N places a hand on her stomach absentmindedly. "It is now."

Michonne eyes her. "That's giving up."

"No, it's reality. This is how it's gonna have to be. We have to face the truth. No one is gonna save us. There isn't some miracle cure. There isn't a government. We don't have anything but each other. And that'll have to do." She says.

The others remain silent but they know she's right.

Another large clap of thunder makes some of the group jump in surprise. The storm is getting more violent. The barn doors move roughly against the weather.

Daryl gets up to make sure they stay shut when suddenly he grunts and throws his body against the doors. They start to move, and thud.

Y/N looks up and her eyes widen.

A herd is outside the barn.
