I'm coming home. I'M COMING HOME! When Simone told me this morning I was so happy and she said she was going to tell Alex for me. So I went to my therapy and thanked her for her help and patience and she seemed sad I was leaving. 'You've been my all time favourite, Jennifer' she said tearfully as we had a hug 'I'm coming back though' I said with a laugh. I can almost taste the freedom!
This morning I was so glad to leave that hospital but I had a bad time coming back home. I thought I was going to be alright but when I saw the car, I just flipped. I don't know what came over me but I just couldn't deal with it. I just couldn't stop screaming and I don't know why I was so frightened but I almost knocked Simone over in my attempt to go back inside. Eventually though, I got in and I sat with Alex the whole journey with my eyes firmly shut while Alex held me. It was quite scary though, the noise of the engine and the grinding of gears made me feel ill; I can't imagine what it was like for Alex but we were both glad to get out of there. That car journey was absolute living hell.
I've never gotten out of something so quickly as that of the car today. I was shaky and I don't think Alex had much fun either. I stood on the driveway and as I looked up at the house, our house, my jaw almost hit the floor. I am not joking this place is MASSIVE, I mean I wasn't expecting some tiny apartment but my God. This place is like a mansion and on probably the poshest estate I've ever seen. How did I end up in a palace like this? As Alex took me inside I couldn't believe my eyes, and when we sat down in the kitchen I noticed there was a ladle lying carelessly on the side. I motioned to it and Alex picked it up quickly, putting it into the dishwasher. He seemed quite tense and I was starting to feel a bit uncomfortable, 'so' I began awkwardly to try and make conversation but he didn't match my efforts so I just got up and went to our room.
I got upstairs and placed my ear against the first door. When I heard nothing I turned the handle and opened it and I was surprised to see someone sitting there, so I quietly closed it again and tried the next one. I listened for longer this time but I still didn't make out any noise so I cautiously opened it. I had chosen correctly and I paused at the door and breathed in the mixed aroma of sweet perfume and a strong aftershave. I stood and studied the room for a while, not wanting to disturb the apparent tranquility. I closed my eyes and stepped gently over the threshold, half expecting something to happen, but nothing did. I sat on the side of the bed that I assumed to be mine, still made and neat, whilst the other side was a mess of duvet, blankets and tissues. I picked up the small box that sat on the wooden cabinet and opened it, soft music floated out as I read the message lovingly engraved on the polished metal; 'My Eternal Love'. I stroked the curves of the letters with my finger and took out the diamond necklace inside, it was a treble clef with my initials carved into the back.
He opened the door, making me jump and I quickly put down the book I had taken off of my desk. 'Don't worry' he said as he kicked off his slippers and climbed into the bed. I continued to look at the pictures on my desk and I recognised a few faces, but not many. I closed the lid to my perfume and went over to the bed, I sat down and he put his hand over mine. I turned to him with a smile and he kissed me gently on the cheek, 'goodnight' he murmured into my ear, 'goodnight' I said as I laid down and turned off my light.
