Hide and Survive - A One Night At Flumpty's Story

Jeremy Attacks!

Chump POV

The creature known as Chump stood solemnly over the body of his master. He paid no attention to the other mangled body beside it.

The Eyesaur sat at his side, also mourning the death of the Redman. The two didn't even bat an eye when Jeremy walked up to the gravesite.

Chump only started to pay attention to him when he picked up a long bone fragment that used to be part of one of the Redman's legs.

In Chump's animalistic mind, he took this as a sign that Jeremy was taking the Redman's bones because he was his successor. In other words, his new master.

Why else would he desecrate his master's corpse in such a way? He did, after all, indirectly kill him by tricking Champ into attacking him, and in turn causing the Eyesaur to trample them and kill them both.

One thing was clear. This human was stronger than the Redman. This human was his new master.

Jeremy POV

Jeremy twirled the bone fragment in his hand. The thing was almost as big as his arm. The bone was incredibly sharp on one end, but mostly flat on one end.

He tapped it against the floor, with the bone not taking the slightest hint of damage. It was most likely not hollow. He held the bone like a sword, and swung it around, hearing the sound of it slicing the air.

This was a game changer. He now stood a chance if he was ever confronted by one of Flumpty's friends. Unfortunately, his laptop was destroyed by the Redman, so he couldn't keep tabs on everyone's positions like he used to.

He decided he would find another office-like room to hide in, if there even were any. He couldn't stay in the first office, because the door power shut off. He might last a bit longer in the second office, but without his laptop, he couldn't know which vent the Owl would fly through.

But how could he find these potential offices without the cameras? Jeremy pondered this for a moment, but his thoughts were interrupted when Chump walked up to him.

Jeremy quickly stepped back and leveled the bone like a spear, pointing it at Chump.

Chump halted mid step and stared at Jeremy, making a confused grunt noise.

Jeremy poked is 'spear' softly near Chump's chest, causing him to step back. Chump tilted his head.

Jeremy suddenly remembered what he said just before the Eyesaur killed the Redman and Champ.

You are human, like me. You're not like these things.

We are humans! We fight! We survive! We endure and persevere!

Those were words he said shortly before the Redman was killed. Though they were mostly directed at Champ, he also meant them towards Chump as well. He had promised that they would fight and survive together, so why would he attack Chump now?

Jeremy lowered the bone-spear and dropped it, looking and smiling at Chump. It felt awkward, but Chump seemed to appreciate the gesture. Chump walked toward Jeremy, and was about 4 feet away from him. He made an inscrutable grunt noise.

Chump looked at the wound on Jeremy's leg and tore a big piece of his own flesh off what was left of his shoulder with his teeth. Jeremy grimaced at the sight. Chump walked up to him with the long, thin piece of skinless flesh, and dropped it at his feet. He nodded to the wound on his leg.

Jeremy had forgotten about the pain in his leg because of the adrenaline rush of the recent events, but once Chump pointed it out, the pain started to return.
