Chapter 4: It's a first

JODETTE ANAIS VILLAVERDE (Aneys or Aney)

Days and weeks have passed since I joined the so called "Class X", pero hindi naman talaga yun ang tawag sa kanila e, "Section A" naman talaga. They were called such because they were "badasses" daw. They're just adventurous, in my point of view.

"Joan!" I was cut from my daydreaming when Stephanie called me. Stephanie was a short haired girl, with tan skin and a full smile, she always approached me kindly.

"Ano, kamusta naman?" umupo siya sa tabi ko. Tiningnan ko ang buong klase, ayun kalat kalat, pero masaya.

"Masaya.... pero mahirap ang lessons! Bakit ganun!" I cried. Mahirap talaga ang lessons, considering na topnotcher na ako sa class namin dati a! It's just... sobrang advanced nila.

"San ka ba nahihirapan?"

"Sa lahat?" I laughed, and she laughed with me too.

"Hmm, let's see. Pwede kitang tulungan sa Math, pero kung tungkol sa Business, Finance and other subjects including Math, si Ian or Gaby ang malalapitan mo dyan."

"Ian?" I unconsciously raised my eyebrow.

"Yeap, si Mr. President na tamaaaaaaaaad" nilakasan ni Steph yung boses niya para marinig siya ni Ian na kausap naman si Ruby, girlfriend niya yata.

I haven't talked to him that much.... yet. Ewan, nahihiya ako sa kanya e. His eyes are so fierce, parang si Ruby. Anyone would melt with those eyes. At saka, aaminin ko ang gwapo niya talaga, sobra, as in. Kaya pag kinakausap niya ako, minsan umiiwas ako ng tingin, feeling ko matutunaw ako e.

Nginitian lang ni Ian si Steph, and went back talking to Ruby. Si Ruby naman, mukhang matapang at mataray, pero sobrang bait naman! Medyo mapang-asar pero tolerable. She helped me once sa homework namin, she made Calculus easier!

Someone knocked, when the twins opened the door, pumasok naman si Fredo and Yachi. Kumbaga sa buong class sila ang pinakamature, and quite mysterious though, lalo na si Fredo. They brought food, and parang fiesta na naman sa classroom namin.

Everyone went to get food, hindi ako kumuha... parang wala akong gana. I just sat on my chair and looked outside the window, wondering... just wondering where my bestfriend is... where Gabriella is.

Biglang may french fries na nangamoy malapit sa akin, may kumalabit sa akin and I saw Basty, he smiled kindly at me. Basty was the so-called genius in this class, kaso he's not that approachable... I think? This was the first time that he approached me. Ngayon ko lang din siya napagmasdan, and wow... some hot nerd he is. Kung mag-aayos! Haha!

Inabot niya sa akin yung fries and I declined kindly, he sat beside me and stared.

"Don't stare!" naramdaman kong uminit yung mukha ko. Hey, he was staring! It was kind of embarassing!

"Is something bothering you? Are you having a hard time coping?" he asked. He really looked concerned.

"It's not that. If it's coping up it would be easy, I'm really comfortable with everyone here... it's just that..." I let out a deep sigh. "The one I'm most comfortable with is not here... my best friend na akala kong makakasama ko na palagi"

"Hey... It's Gaby... she's always, y'know distant since that time." he answered.

THAT TIME, since that time na nagbreak sila ng boyfriend niyang si Jino. Jino left without saying a word. I can't say that I know how she feels, but I do understand.
