LONG CHAPTER
After my breakdown in my tent, I finally join everyone else outside. I have my cap on backwards in hopes that it will give me some kind of comfort, hoping and praying that Glenn will miraculously show up but the chances are very slime.
I'm sitting next to Amy by the RV, sharpening my knife. Every once in a while I'll send Shane a glare across the way to where he sits cleaning one of the shotguns he showed me how to shoot. He sits in one of the chairs, leaned back. Lori sits across from him with Carl sitting on the ground in front of her, giving him a hair cut. I can tell by the look on the boys face that he's growing impatient.
I sniff a little, my nose still being a little runny from crying earlier. This catches Amy attention.
"You're worried about Glenn?" She asks in a soft voice.
I look to her, giving her a small nod. I frown as new tears starting to form but I don't let them fall.
She frowns. "Glenn's smart. He'll figure something out and they'll be back in no time." Her voice confident and optimistic, but is heavy with sadness.
She stares straight ahead, not looking at me as her lip begins to quiver. She looks over to me.
"Do you think they'll..." her voice cracks as a tears runs down her cheek as she looks down.
I grab her hand, squeezing it slightly making her look back at me. I give her a hopeful, reassuring smile, while letting my own tear fall down my cheek.
All of a sudden a car alarm is heard in the distance making us release our hands and jump up looking towards the road. Thinking that it could be danger, I place my hand on my gun just in case. I look up to Dale as he picks up his binoculars.
"Talk to me, Dale!" Shane yells, stomping over as well.
"Can't tell yet." Dale answers as I move closer to the road.
"Is it them? Are they back?" Amy ask from behind as Shane comes up next to me with his shotgun, both of us taking the lead.
"I'll be damned." Dale mutters.
"What is it?" Amy ask curiously.
"A stolen car is my guess." He answers.
Not long after that, a red muscle car, a dodge I think, comes zooming up the road with the horn still blaring loudly, and finally coming to a stop.
Nice car.
Everyone makes their way over as Glenn jumps out of the car. Relief washes over me. Amy runs up to him.
"Holy crap! Turn that damn thing off!" Dale shouts over the blaring horn.
"I don't know how!" Glenn says loudly, holding his arms out.
Shane walks up to him. "Pop the hood, please. Pop the damn hood, please." He asks Glenn.
"My sister Andrea-" Amy immediately questions him.
"Pop the damn hood!" Shane angrily asks again.
"What!? Okay okay yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah!" Glenn gets back in to pop the hood.
