I woke up the next the morning feeling refreshed. It felt nice to wake up in an actual bed instead of a sleeping bag for once. I pulled the covers off, instantly noticing Glenn no longer here so he must be up already. I slide my converses on my feet and throw of a red flannel. I keep my hair down, not in a braid this time.I walk down the hallway as another door opens up. Rick walks out stretching and yawning. He notices he watching him with amusement.
"Morning." He greets me, his voice heavy with sleep.
I smile and quickly write. "Morning, Sheriff."
He chuckles. "Hey, did we talk by any chance last night?" He asks me, curiously. I nod my head. "I didn't do anything too embarrassing, did I?"
I give him a tight smile, shrugging my shoulders as if I'm saying 'kinda.'
He groans, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Was it bad?" He asks. I shake my head no before I imitate how he walked and almost tripped. He laughs playfully shoving me. "Okay, okay, I get it."
We walk down the hallway together heading towards the cafeteria. The smell of eggs and bacon fills my nostrils the closer we get. Once we get there we see T-Dog was making breakfast while Dale and Andrea sit at the table, drinking coffee with Lori and Carl, who was eating cereal while Glenn has his head resting on his hand, looking awful.
"Morning." Rick greets to everyone as I wave at them.
I walk over to get coffee as Carl speaks up. "Are you hung over?" He asks his dad. "Mom said you'd be."
"Mom is right." Rick tells him as I pour my coffee, adding a bit of creamer as well.
"Mom has that annoying habit." Lori says, picking her bacon.
"Eggs. Powered, but I do 'em good." T-Dog announces, spoon some eggs on my plate. Glenn groans out miserably making me laugh. "I bet you can't tell." I walk over to the table with my coffee and food. "Protein helps the handover." He says, spoon some eggs onto Glenn's plate, making him groan more.
"Where'd all this come from?" Rick asks, holding a pill bottle.
"Jenner." Lori answers.
"Can you help me, please?" Rick asks, handing her the bottle.
"He thought we could use it." She says, glancing up at Glenn. "Some of us at least." She adds, opening the bottle before handing me a pill. I smile at her gratefully.
"Don't ever ever ever let me drink again." Glenn grumbles.
I take my pill as Carl glances up at me. I give him a wink before I loudly pull my chair out making it screech against the floor. Glenn groans again making Carl laugh. I finally sit down and dig into my food.
"Hey." Shane greets, walking in heading to the coffee machine.
"Hey." Rick greets back. "Feel as bad as I do?" He asks him.
"Worse." Shane answers before coming to the table.
When he does, I notice scratches on his neck that wasn't there last night. T-Dog notices this as well. "What the hell happened to you?" He asks him. "Your neck."
Shane plops down next to me. "Must've done it in my sleep."
I reach forward with my hand, touching his neck to examine to it. "Never seen you do that before." Rick stats looking at his friend.
"Me neither." Shane says. "Not like me at all." He glances to Lori who was avoiding eye contact with him. My finger brushes against one of the scratches, making him flinch slightly. I give him a 'sorry' look. "I'm alright. Don't worry." He reassures.
