Chapter 8- Coffee Break

It was now 8 am exactly, and Leorio sat, patiently waiting.

DING!

Leorio's phone went off, and he glanced at it, half expecting it to say they had to cancel.

Killua: Sorry for the wait, old man, but I'm on my way now.

Leorio fumed and smoke practically shot out of his ears.

Leorio: Who are you calling old?! I'm only 19 years old!

Killua read the message but never replied, which only made Leorio angrier.

"Whatever." He puffed, crossing his arms in front of his chest and turning his head away from the phone.

15 minutes later, Leorio heard the door open and saw Killua and Gon enter the small cafe. Leorio waved the boys over dramatically, and the two reluctantly sat down across from Leo, acting like he was some pedophile.

"I know what you're doing." Leorio groaned, "I'm not Hisoka, so chill."

The three boys made eye contact for a couple seconds before they all burst out laughing.

Machi walked over and smiled at Killua and Gon, and introduced herself to Leorio.

"Would you two like your usuals?" Machi asked the 13 year olds.

"Sure," The boys said in unison.

"Okay, and how about you, sir?" Machi said, looking up at Leorio.

"I'll get some plain buttermilk pancakes and a black coffee." Leorio decided.

"Okay, I'll be back soon with your food." Machi said before going to the kitchen.

Leorio stared at Killua and Gon for a couple seconds. "You guys come here enough to have usuals? Aren't you guys a little young to be attending a cafe frequently?"

"Machi is an ex member of the phantom troope, so I doubt she can even complain about us if she wants to." Killua said, eyes darkening.

Leorio frowned. "Guess this isn't the kind of place I could take Pika, then."

Gon completely ignored most of Leorio's comment and stood up on his seat.

"Pika's with you?" He asked excitedly.

"Well, me and him made plans to hangout aswell, and I was kinda cafe hunting, but no he's not dating me, if that's what you mean." Leorio said, his face red like a beet,

Gon and Killua raised their eyebrows at each other before pretending to peck each other.

"Look, I'm Leorio!" Gon said, "And Killua's Kurapika! We're in love!"

Killua blushed. He knew Gon was saying it to tee off Leorio, but he really wished the 'in love' part wasn't.

Leorio was flustered and started to yell at them, but Machi came back with the food right before things got too heated.

Killua and Gon had a good time chatting with Leorio, but eventually Leorio got called in for a surgery and had to go. Meanwhile, Gon and Killua decided to go back to the rabbit burrow.

In the rabbit's burrow, the mother and father were sleeping, their babies hopping around like tiny maniacs.

"We should name the bunnies!" Gon announced, picking up an arm's full of bunnies.

"Yea, ok." Killu said before pointing to a particularly fluffy grey bunny. "That one'll be Reginald, Reggie for short, because that's a cute rabbit name."

Gon put down his rabbits to stroke a black and white splotched one. "This one'll be, erm, Gonllua, no, Killugon. A combination of our names!"

'Or a ship name.' Killua thought, blushing.

The rabbit naming went on until the boys had named every rabbit twice.

Illumi sat in his room upsairs, talking with Hisoka.

"Father has requested I set up a trap to kill Freecs." Illumi informed Hisoka.

"How interesting," Hisoka replied, clearly not actually interested.

"Any suggestions on what I should do?"

"Let me braid your hair and maybe I'll think of something." Hisoka replied boredly, running his fingers through Illumi's long dark locks.

Killua sniffed the air, again it smelled of smoke. Gon wasn't with him. Killu ran up the stairs and grabbed a limp Gon.

"You're too late." Somebody said from behind him. Killua screamed as a blinding pain flashed through his back and spread to the rest of his body.

Killu sprang up and looked around. He was sweating and shaking, but it had all been a dream. Killua was relieved, but still shaken up. He decided to get a glass of water to cool his nerve.

Killua crept slowly to the kitchen, deadly silent up until he tripped and fell on something. Killu collided with the floor and was knocked out instantly.

"How Distasteful." Illumi said, picking Killua up like a sack of flour and throwing him over his shoulder. "He let his guard down and lets himself get knocked out without the smallest fight."
