Scene One

I am naming the titles 'Scene One', 'Scene Two', ect. because that is how I turned them in :) I used some ideas from another writer on this, but that's because I was reading the book when this was assigned and that was the only thing I could think about. Also, all the phrases that are italicized are stage direction, meaning they are not dialogue, they are actions. Well I think that is it! Enjoy! Please comment giving me ideas so that I know where I can improve, thanks.

TYLER

Goodnight guys, I'm going to fall asleep if I don't go now, call again tomorrow? Cool.

MICHAEL

You don't have to tell them that every time. They are smarter than you, actually everybody is, but they will figure it out soon.

TYLER

Get out of my room

MICHAEL

Whatever. I'm just saying, they are all you have and lying to them is a really messed up way to keep friends

TYLER

You know what, I never see you go out with friends, so shut up.

MICHAEL

I hope you don't see me go out with friends, which would just make you more of a creep than you already are.

TYLER

Get out, you know what I meant. And I'm not creepy

MICHAEL

I didn't say you were creep-y, wow you must hate yourself more than I thought.

TYLER

Get out!

MICHAEL

You're right, I should give you time to write your note, it's about time anyway.

TYLER

I am not!

Sighs

Just get out of my room.

MICHAEL

Oh that's selfish, you're just going to make mom think she failed as a parent. You're not going to give a reason for your death. Even when you're dead, you still want people to feel bad for you? You just love being the center of attention.

TYLER

Why are you doing this?! I'm just tired!

MICHAEL

Sleep when you're dead.

TYLER

Hey! It's not my fault dad killed himself. He was always sad. If you don't remember that's kind of the reason mom left him. You lived your whole life with him, and now you have been here for a week and you think you can just totally move in with me and mom and pretend like this isn't the freaking parent trap? So go somewhere else and leave me alone.

MICHAEL

You think I have a choice? I have to be here.

TYLER

Whatever, I'll go to college next year and you can stay here with mom

MICHAEL

Yea, just run away from your problems then, just like you always do- another reason why nobody will ever like you.

TYLER

Get out!

Michael leaves

TYLER

God he's right. You are worthless. Dad couldn't take it anymore either, that's why he did what he did. Who wants a kid that just walks around with headphones in, a hoodie on just trying to blend in? He was never happy anyways. Just like me...and he died, and I could die

Hears knock at door and opens it finding his neighbor Jenna

JENNA

Hey, I heard you across the street, are you okay?

TYLER

Hi- I- its early- hey- I'm Tyler

JENNA

I'm Jenna. Is everything okay?

TYLER

Yea, wait did I wake you up?

JENNA

Oh, I was watching movies.

TYLER

Aren't you tired?

JENNA

It's err really cold.

TYLER

What- oh! Come in!

JENNA

Why are you up?

TYLER

I can't sleep, so I'm drawing

JENNA

Can I see?

TYLER

Ye- I mean no

JENNA

Tilts head

TYLER

I don't like showing people my art...

JENNA

Oh, I understand. I don't like when people look at my art either. I like your shirt by the way, the Ramones are really good.

TYLER

Thank you, I like your shirt too.

JENNA

You like My Chem?

TYLER

I like how they perform, Frnk really pours out his heart and soul when he plays.

JENNA

That's freaking great, I thought I was the only band freak here...

TYLER

We really should hang out sometime, you seem really cool. By the way, did you just move here? I haven't seen you around school.

JENNA

Yea, just moved in like a week ago and I'm homeschooled.
