Walking back into the house is like being a ghost and staying for her own funeral. Murray stays suspiciously close to Enid as if afraid she'll keel over and meet her end any second now.

Esther actually spares her a glance and asks, "What did the doctor say?" 3 of her 7 brothers are lurking in the room, two of them pretending to play chess of all things, the reason why they chose chess which Enid had never seen them even attempt to play was unbeknownst to her. The other one was eavesdropping while playing a video game at a suspiciously quiet volume.

"I'm fine, it was just fainting at the sight of blood",Enid replied with a shrug.

With Esther nodding as if it is perfectly normal for Enid to be seeing blood at school, Enid murmurs, "I'm tired, I'm going to go to my room."

It isn't until she gets back to her room and sees the doll she had left in the Addam's mansion magically sitting on her bed that she remembers the photo. What if it was a valuable clue? It was possible she wouldn't be able to figure out the curse and how to break it if she was missing a clue.

Enid couldn't afford such distractions before her game tomorrow, yet she finds herself plopping onto her bed, letting the fear settle in. She had so much she'd wanted to do, find a girlfriend maybe. More than anything she wanted to explore the world, a world not restricted by her mother.

Plucking an old worn soccer ball from underneath her bed, Enid stepped out of her room into the other part of the attic. Climbing onto the roof from the attic window, Enid rolls the worn out soccer ball with her hand back and forth as she stares off into the distance at the sunset. It was the same ball that her brothers and father had taught her how to play soccer with. She still remembered the way Murray hollered proudly and picked her up to drop her onto his shoulders when she made her first goal. Kids laughing and screaming as they played in the streets, trying to make the most of the last of the fall sunlight made its way faintly to Enid's ears.

Then behind her came a voice to interrupt her thoughts, "I prefer dawn."

Head whipping so fast that she almost topples over on the roof, Enid's eyes go wide when she sees Wednesday Addams standing on the slant of the roof like it was nothing.

"Am I dead?" After all that's the only explanation. Enid must've fallen off the roof and died or something because it wasn't possible for a human to just stand there on the roof so casually without falling off.

"Not yet", Wednesday replies, and Enid suddenly thinks that the quiet yet powerful way she talks isn't how Enid expected her to sound. Although Enid wasn't aware she expected talking to Wednesday's ghost at all five seconds ago.

"But I must be close to death if I'm seeing ghosts", Enid said glumly, shoulders sagging once again as she pouts. There was so many things positive attitudes could fix, but even Enid knew that

The corner of ghost Wednesday's mouth ticks upward in amusement. "You're not giving up are you?" The way she says it makes Enid feel challenged, as if Wednesday's ghost had expected Enid to give up on living.

So instead of giving the ghost that satisfaction, she grins instead, "I have things to live for, friends, goals, and dreams, sorry hot dead girl." The last part simply slips out as a small memory of how her friends had referred to Wednesday pops into her mind.

"You're detestably bright and positive", Wednesday scowls, crossing her arms.

"Watch out if you're gonna insult me. This kitty's got claws and I'm not afraid to use them", Enid says, nestling the ball between her knees and curling her fingers into a poor resemblance of claws, jutting her chin upward in defiance.
