NO x MOUTH x MAN

Present 

A lot of people were gathered in this underground room. Their voice reverberated against the walls, creating indistinguishable noises. Every time the door to this room open, almost all the gazes directed themself toward the new arrivant. 

This is the situation Inumaki came face to face with when the elevator's door opened, revealing the loud crowd. They all stared at them, judging their strength. However, their unimpressed expression told them that in their eyes, their were weak. Of course, objectively speaking, they weren't really imposing. However, Inumaki expression wasn't any different : Looking at this mass, the level of the participant seemed pretty low to him. For the most part, they didn't have nen. And only a few among the nenless seem skilled. 

That's right. Inumaki decided to take the Hunter exam. A lot had happen since their first arrival here. They encountered a lot of people, fought a lot, and learned a lot about this world. But this is for another time, because, like I said, a lot happened, and right now, our little exorcist is about to become accointance with some special people.

"Here, take this badge. Please, pin it on your chest and don't loose it."

Looking at the person (?) talking to them, they saw a little green bean man giving a circular badge with a number on it : 90.

"Kelp" They great before turning away and walking in the big room.

"eh, Kelp? wh-what?" was the only answer the bean man could mutter, however, de young person had already walked away.

Inumaki wasn't really paying attention to their surrounding. they had indeed, felt a piercing gaze directed toward them, they, however, choose not to pay it attention. They made sure to keep their nen in check, not to draw any unwanted attention, but the needly stare pocking his back showed it wasn't successful. 

They decide to lean on the wall near one of the big pipes, taking out their phone and playing Beast Crossing : Hunter life in the meantime. Taking some kind of earphone ( the closest thing to it they could find to the one they knew) they started exploring with the little character they made, looking exactly like him. Before they could really immerse themself into the game, and the music they listen to, a squary nose man came toward them.

"Hey, you're new here aren't you? How do I know you ask, well, know that I already took the exam 32 times, I pretty much know every participants, hahaha!"

Inumaki, of course, did not answer him, only glancing up from his device, before looking back not interested. This cold treatment wasn't enough to discourage the man who continued talking.

"I'm Tompa by the way! Since you're new, I might as well tell you more about the exam, what so you think?" 

...

"Hahah...you're a quiet one, I see. Hum, *cough* how about a toast, I have some drinks. Let's cheer, good luck for this exam!" he said holding up a can of some kind of juice. 

Toge made no move to acknowledge the man, struggling to catch a GIANT spider in his game. 

"Hehehe, hum, here for you, take it!" Tompa all be shoved the can toward them, making a clinking noise against their phone. This action affect their play, making the timing to catch the GIANT spider wrong. Toge looked at the screen, their face completely frozen. 

"So, you gonna take this or-"

Before he could finish speaking, Tompa was confronted with a death glare. The man started to sweat bullets. He couldn't even say a word.

"Drink it" was all Toge said, his voice as low as possible, so the only person to ear his command was Tompa. 

Not knowing what was happening, Tompa drank the can he was holding in his hand. 

He learned his lesson and let Inumaki alone, lucky him, he drank the can he reserved for himself, poison free. 

As for Toge, except for the loss of the GIANT spider, they continued their game, still not acknowledging the weird stare, that became more insistant after this incident. 

1rst person POV

Nothing really interesting happened. I sometime would look up, when some interesting looking people entered. That kid with white hair took my interest, especially when he drank at least ten of the mostcertainlynotpoisonned cans Tompa offered him. 

I  started to nod off, waiting, when a group of three participants entered. A tall old man in a suit, a frog kid and a blond. I did not stared at them creepily like another person in this room do, and quickly went back to my phone. From the corner of my eyes, I could see squary nose going toward them, offering the same cans. 

They fell for it. Of course. Thanks to the frog kid, the three ended up not drinking the "spoiled" drinks.

AH, I forgot to mention some magician decided to practice his new show by making a guy arms disappear. And judging by his gaze, he clearly was the person staring at me ever since I entered this room. He definitely is strong, and I wouldn't stand a chance against him without my cursed speech...

Nothing more happened until a loud noise resonated in the room.  A man with purple hair ended it with a *click* and started speaking. He was probably explaining who he was, or what would the exam consist of but, I couldn't process anything he said : I was to focused wondering about his moustache. Does he not have a mouth? Then how is he talking? It might be hidden under his moustache but it's so thin, a bit should still be seen right? Am I going crazy? Why is no one wondering the same thing? 

My mental breakdown stopped when the crowd started moving, following no mouth man. Now that he wasn't facing me, I could hear what he said.

"I'm Satotsu, the examiner charged to take you all to the second phase". A lot of participant raised question at this. Satotsu simply answered them "The first phase consist on following me to the second one". 

No more words were needed, and all followed the examiner. However, his pace progressively increased, the group no longer walking.

 I just ran, in a light jog, nothing really extraordinary happening, except for the few examinees that had fallen after 40 min or so of running, making me wonder how the hell did they though they could become hunters. 

The sound of wheels against the ground rang past me, making me look up to the silver haired boy I saw earlier. I wanted to interact with him. But I can't really talk. I could-

"OIIII KID!!! TAKE THE EXAM SERIOUSLY!!!!!!" 

[What are you thoughts? Not a lot happened, but the first phases aren't really useful to show off Inumaki's power sooo...

Toge will be slightly OP, at least at the start. He is not compared to the whole HxH universe, but he know nen, and his fangs are stronger now. 

As for the Beast crossing thing, I imagine that it would be the same as ACNH but with monster chase and gems collecting, a bit more open world like. Wouldn't it be fun? Hope you liked it!! ]
