The Truth Comes Out

Third POV

"She saved you all from me." Faust said covering his mouth, laughing lowly.

"W-What?" Edo Levy asked.

Faust turned to her, his gaze piercing through her.

"Lucy Ashley, the extraordinary member of Fairy Tail. The protector of protectors. The shield of Fairy Tail. The savior of the guilds. The symbol of Magic." Faust said, walking slowly around the guild hall, his arms raised as he listed all the nicknames Edo Lucy had acquired back in Edolas, causing the Edolas Guild to flinch, while the Earthland Guild looked at the king in shock.

'You really are special no matter where you are Lu-chan.' Levy thought with a small smile on her face.

"What are you trying to say?" Edo Jet asked.

Faust dropped his arms and turned to glare at the Edolas guild.

"To many she was heaven sent, so it intrigued me. I knew that if she came over to my side, the guilds would have no one to defend them, hence, I ordered my spies to meet up with her, hoping she'd join our side for the greater good. I truly believed they'd be able to do it, yet the young lady killed them before they even got the chance to speak! She destroyed my only opportunity to destroy all of the guilds that wouldn't give up! She turned out to be the biggest thorn on my side!" Faust screamed.

The smarter members stared at the King in shock while the rest still didn't understand. Edo Levy covered her mouth, her heart beginning to sting.

'N-No. It can't be. I.......I.......What have I done?' Edo Levy thought as she let tears roll down her face, feeling an immense amount of guilt take over of her very being.

"S-Spies?" Edo Gray asked, eyes wide.

"Did you truly believe the kingdom wasn't monitoring the guilds? How do you think we got rid of more than half of the hidden guilds?" Faust taunted with a wicked smile as if telling them they were just delaying their downfall.

He looked around the guild and landed on Edo Mira and Edo Elfman.

"I sent spies to many guilds: lovers, friends, siblings, parents, I used all means necessary to destroy the guilds if they didn't agree to becoming part of my army. Twilight Orge, Titan Nose, Phoenix Grave, Eisenwald, among others were destroyed due to their own arrogance. Their need to be independent from the kingdom ruined them." Faust said as his eyes darkened.

"That was the future I had hoped Fairy Tail would have after Lucy eliminated my finest spies, ultimately refusing my offer, but my son decided it was better to give up. He destroyed Edolas with his very own hands when he sent the remaining magic and the exceeds away, destroying the only thing that could grant us eternal power. MY OWN FLESH AND BLOOD DESTROYED THE ONE THING I YEARNED FOR!" Faust screamed before he fell to his knees, all of his energy leaving his body.

"Did you really think that by sacrificing innocent lives you'd be granted eternal power? No you weren't. You were only delaying the inevitable, and sooner or later Edolas would've been destroyed due to the artificial magic you were plaguing it with father." Mystogan said, looking at his father with contempt.

"Lies! How would you know?!" Faust screamed at his son, casing Mystogan to grit his teeth, trying to stop himself from screaming off the top of his lungs.

"Did you ever take a look at what was happening outside the capital? The land below the capital was a wasteland! The islands that were being held in place by the artificial magic were contaminating themselves! The amount of food available to our people was decreasing at an alarming rate for that very reason! You didn't take into consideration that the magic you were polluting the land with also spread sickness! Your wife, my mother was killed because of your greed!" Mystogan finally managed to exclaim, letting himself release the years of pent up hate and pain.
