Third POV

"His highness was preparing to present something big so that the kingdom could work with the guilds, how about making Lucy the chairwoman of the alliance?" Edo Erza suggested, gaining surprised looks from around her.

"Ahem! Knightwalker, the plans for the alliance are still under works." Mystogan said, scratching his neck, the news of the alliance wasn't supposed to get out until he gained legitimacy to the throne.

"Oh please pardon me." Edo Erza apologized, cursing herself for making a rookie mistake when she's been a veteran for years.

The Edolas guild looked at each other, their expressions saying the same thing.

"We want to know more." Edo Reedus voiced out for his guild mates, making Mystogan internally curse, not having enough information of the guilds to know what their expertise were.

Mystogan sighed, but tried to see the brighter side of this otherwise messy ordeal.

"At the moment the people of Edolas trust the guilds more than they trust the royal family, hence I want the palace and the guilds to work together. The palace will provide the general services (food, pensions, medicine, protection, etc.) to the people, while the guilds help the people rebuild their homes and help collect and hand out resources where we can't reach. Of course this is only in the talks at the moment and nothing has been decided yet." Mystogan said, knowing this sounded more like a wish than an actual plan.

"So guilds would be like work agencies?" Edo Cana asked.

"More or less. Obviously rewards will be given to the people that work in the guilds, I'd say that guild workers will receive bonuses, provided by the royal family, on top of their wages. I'd say the bonus workers receive will be within 750 to 1,500 Ilpira* every month. The bonus would vary depending on what tasks the workers do." Mystogan explained, hoping he wasn't confusing them.

"What would she have to de as the chairwoman?" Edo Natsu asked, feeling like although this sounded great it'd be a great burden to carry.

"Since she'd be the chairwoman, she'd have to regularly attend meetings in the palace and have to make inspections at the guilds throughout the year, maybe 1 visit a year per guild? But like I said this is still in the works and she might get some work added and some work removed." Mystogan said, trying to not confuse himself.

Edo Natsu nodded but his expression was stiff.

'Would Lucy have time for the guild if she became the chairwoman for that alliance?' Edo Natsu thought, but he immediately felt his conscience pricked.

Edo Mira sighed, trying to figure out a way for Lucy to not get that position, remembering that Lucy hated being the one to call the shots unless it was absolutely necessary.

"The whole point of this talk was to find a way to ask for forgiveness, and I feel that we're going to be giving Lucy more work than she'll be able to handle." Edo Mira said, looking at the guild.

Faust was baffled, he had tried all the tricks in the book to bring Fairy Tail down, but it was impossible because Lucy always managed to wiggle them out of problems. The back alley store's safety , the double agents that gathered information for the guilds, the relocation and safety of retired mages, all of it was possible because Lucy was the one moving the pieces on the chessboard. For him it was ridiculous to think that managing a couple guilds would be more than a walk in the park for her.

"I think Lucy has what it takes though, remember most of the people that escaped the King were people Lucy personally helped, and that number was higher than the amount of people in the guild." Edo Macao said, recalling the amount of times Lucy risked her life helping people escape the capital.
