Accidental Magic

Halloween 2010

Bellatrix Black hated the concept of muggle Halloween traditions since she was first roped into going trick or treating with Teddy when he was 5 years old. Her eldest daughter, Cassiopeia, was almost five this Halloween and it didn't make the thought of going to random muggle houses and begging for sweets any more desirable. However, the holiday had always been really important to Hermione's parents so she went along every year because they loved to see the kids in their costumes. Draco's daughter Lyra even joined the trick or treating troupe as the years went on. Hermione had tried to convince Bella every year to dress up and every year her reply remained the same, "I don't need a costume, pet. I'm scary enough on my own." She never pressed Bella on the subject so the dark witch never felt the need to comply. Though if Hermione had truly insisted upon it, Bella would never be able to say no. Her wife had her wrapped around her finger especially when the kids were involved.

Everyone was meeting at the Granger's house as they had every year since the pair had gotten married. This was Teddy's last year being able to trick or treat with the family because next year he was off to Hogwarts. Bella was already mourning Teddy's last year at home. It just made her nervous and sad for when her daughter would eventually head to Hogwarts. She knew it was a long time away but she was already not looking forward to that.  "Come down, Bella," her wife called to her as she was currently upstairs hiding in Hermione's old bedroom. She sighed and got up, putting her book back on the shelf. "Your sisters are here!" That didn't make her want to come out any faster. "Mum and dad said they almost have the kids dressed!" Well, that made Bella more inclined to head down to the Granger's family room. "Emmi and Teddy are here!" was Hermione's last effort which had Bella moving down the stairs quickly.

She walked over and scooped up Teddy in her arms even though he was almost as tall as her at 10 years old. He was dressed as a muggle superhero that Bella had never heard of before but she could tell he was excited. "Where's Cass and Minnie?" He asked when she finally ended the embrace and let him down.

"With their grandmother I think," she turned to look at Hermione who confirmed their location. "They will be out soon." Teddy nodded and walked straight to the television putting it on and taking his favorite seat on their overstuffed couch.

"There's Auntie Bella's little bear cub," she walked over to Cissy and snatched the little bundle out of her arms. "Cissy," she nodded at her sister and pointedly walked past Aviya without a greeting.

"It's been years, Bella," Aviya rolled her eyes.

"So?" She was smiling at the four month old little baby.

"And that baby is half mine!"

"I'm only smiling at the parts that are Cissy's." Bella walked over to the couch and sat the baby on her lap. She was an awfully cute little thing. She had big blue eyes and absolutely no hair. Bella had never seen a cuter cue ball. She would often tease her sister about her niece's lack of hair and blame Aviya's inferior genes which would only serve to piss off both her sister and the wife which was a win for Bella. When her sister got married to Ms. Hart, Bella wouldn't exactly say she was thrilled but Aviya truly loved her sister and took care of her in ways that their parents and Lucius never did so while she still gave her a hard time any chance she could, her sister in law was very very slowly growing on her. Plus she had to accept the fact that Aviya wanted to marry her sister when she asked her to make the potion for their second baby.

Cissy had approached exactly a year and a month ago and told her that she was expecting a baby. After Bella burst into laughter, she felt nothing but happiness for her sister. Cissy loved Cass and Minnie more than anything and Bella could see how she longed for another child. If Bella had to bet her vault at Gringotts, she would guess that Aviya fixed the potion so that her sister was the one who got pregnant. Aviya wasn't the child rearing type and Bella couldn't blame her. Pregnancy was far from the fairytale experience people made it out to be. Bella was most thrilled that her sister also gave birth to another little girl. Cygnus could go fuck himself for all Bella cared. She was perfectly content with their family of women plus Teddy.
