6 months later...

Lady was standing in the middle of the crowd n thanking everyone
Yes,today was the day she got promoted as captain
She deserved it
She gave 7 years
She was happy not because she achieved her dream,because she was one step closer to it
Next day
She entered the office
She could remember the day when she came here when she was six.
She kept a frame on the desk
At that time in place of her,it was her father's nameplate.
"Are you watching Dad?
Your daughter is a Captain now, Just like u"
"Ma'am,here are the files you asked for"
"Thanks"
She closed the door and kept the box on the desk.
Was she anxious? Yes
She was going to look after the files of a case her dad was working on when he died.
She started reading the files.
After being done with all the files,she figured out that her dad was after a serial killer who had killed so many girls with same MO
He was doing it for 10 years but no one was able to figure out.
The day her dad found a clue n was going to catch him,he died
She was 6 at that time n now she is 28
It's been 22 years n after that there was not a single case like that.
Why did he stop killing?
From what all info she gathered,the place where her dad was found there was no other body means he is still alive then why?
She also found a diary inside which had a photo of her with her mom n dad.
She was going to read it and suddenly officer came in her office
"Ma'am there has been a murder"
When she went to the murder place,it felt like she couldn't believe her eyes.
Same MO
Same age group victim
Same red nail paint on nails of victim
Card of 10 beside the victim
Everything is same
But why now?
"Do you think he is back?" Her partner asked
"I am not sure it's the same person or not
But I feel like it is connected"
"We have to stop him anyhow before someone else becomes his target"she said
"But why do you think he will kill someone else?"Her team asked
"Just look at the card near the victim "

"While I was going through the records,I came to know
that he used to leave behind a card with number n last time there were 9 victims.
Each one had card in order from 1 to 9.
And this time it's 10.
That's how I feel it is connected n if it's going to be a set of cards then there are chances of 3 more."
"Now the question is why after 22 years?
Shouldn't he be old by now
Last I checked he was in 30s"her partner asked
"Exactly.Why now?

Around midnight in her room
She was lying on her bed thinking about today's events and suddenly she remembered her dad's diary.
She started reading it
Her dad had mentioned clues about various cases he worked on
After few pages,she found a photo of her
Parents and one more couple of same age
She knew that couple because they were the one who took her mom and her to their house when her dad died.
She remembered how much they adored her and took care of her
She got emotional seeing them after so long but what was more surprising was that both her dad and uncle were wearing police uniforms
She turned the photo and found her dad's writing
"Celebrating happiness of being with my best friend in same team"
She couldn't believe what she was seeing
Uncle was also detective?
As far as she knows her uncle and aunt were farmers in the countryside where she lived for 4yrs wid them along with her mom after her dad passed away.
That means mom already knew but
Why did they lie to me?
Why did they leave the job and started living as farmers?
She was frustrated,was an understatement
Since the day she had met him months ago,her life was turning into series of questions without answers
And right now there is only one
person who could help in solving this mysteries
She looked at the photo and smiled.
It was of her and a boy around 2 yrs older than him
She was crying and the boy's one hand was on her head n with other he was giving her balloon.
Behind the picture something was written in messy handwriting with crayons
" OREO AND CHUBS"
And she couldn't control it anymore
She started crying.
'U were always there to make me smile whenever I was sad Oreo
Those 4yrs I lived wid u and ur
parents, u were always there for me.
All these years I thought I lost u along with others.
I was all alone .
I needed u.
And look at the fate's plans,

She didn't know when sleep took over and she got lost in the past which was only glimmer of happiness which made her smile these days
