I run upstairs as fast as my legs can carry me. I am panting heavily as I enter our room, and Colby looks at me with a confused expression.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Fabian is a private detective hired by Mina to collect evidence from us." I said it so fast that I have to lean against the door to catch my breath.

"Sorry? I didn't get that, you spoke too fast." He said.

"When I got downstairs, I saw Mina and Fabian, I didn't want them to see me so I hid behind a palm tree, I overheard their conversation. Fabian is a detective!" I said.

"I knew it!" He said.

"He's been collecting information from us this whole time." Colby clenches his jaw and balls his hands into fists. There is anger in his eyes.

"Colby, calm down. Getting angry won't fix it." I tried to relax him.

"Calm down? Mina hired a detective to SPY on us, y/n." He yelled.

"I know but-" He interrupted me.

"She's gone way to far this time. I've had enough of those two!" Colby pushes the door open with such force that it slams into the wall and storms out.

Fuck

I grab the keycard to our room so we don't lock ourselves out, and then I chased after Colby.

15 minutes later

I have no idea where Colby went, I looked everywhere, but I can't find him. This hotel is wayyyy to big. I went to check the bar. I didn't find him but I did found Kat. She's sitting alone with a glass of wine and a sad look on her face. I also ordered a glass of wine and sat next to her. At first, neither of us said anything. We sip our wine in silence and listen to the soft piano music playing in the background. Then Kat turns to me.

"Sam asked me to go out with him." She said. I hesitate.

"Are you not happy about that?" I asked her.

"I am! but i'm worried that you might be right.." She said.

"I AM a mess, and I'm not ready for another failed relationship." I shake my head, angry at myself.

"Listen, about what I said before- forget it. It was stupid and I'm really sorry."

"You and Sam seem truly happy around each other, and that's all i want for you." I said.

"Really? because I really want to go out with him." She said with a smile.

"Then you should go out with him." I smiled at her.

"Isn't it funny how we're two best friends who are also dating two best friends?" She laughs.

"We're like a real TV show right?" I laughed.

"Totally!" She said.

"I hate fighting with you. I've missed you so much." She added.

"I've missed you too." Kat and I hug each other, but then she abruptly pulls away, her eyes widening.

"I need to tell Sam that I've changed my mind about going out with him!" She jumped.

"DO IT! I'll see you later!" I said. She runs away, surprisingly agile for someone wearing heels.

I should probably head back
Maybe Colby's back

But before I can even reach our room, I see Mina, Fabian and Colby in the hotel lobby. Mina is screaming at the hotel receptions and stomping her feet.
