The Sea Rose and its Princes

Prologue

"You have been exiled for your faithlessness towards the crown." The king of Belvedere said with so little emotion I would have thought he was joking. But considering I'm a pirate who has been stealing his richness for years, and lets not forget I "corrupted" his precious daughter, he probably isn't.

It was the middle of winter and if I turned my head only slightly I could see the snow falling around the beatify corrupted kingdom. Since the throne room overlooks the city you could see all the people bustling around preparing for the promising storm. The winter here is tame to the constant blizzard of the towns past the mountains. Though here there are a few major storms snow lines the ground through out the season.

Surveying the throne room I found guards lining the walls, two gourds standing at there post behind the king, and two guards behind me each with a hand on my shoulder.

The opening of the throne room doors shook me out of my stupor. "What the hell do you think your doing to her." I smiled as I realized who the voice was. Now the king was fucked, I was just going to disarm the men and leave the king with a warning, but now with Devika here the king will hopefully not survive. She stormed her way through the room till she was standing right in front of me.

Gods she was stunning with hair like a fire and freckles all around her face. though right now I could only see her ass witch by the way looks amazing in the navy blue casual dress she was wearing. As she stood there she almost killed her father with only the look she sent him.

King Odysseus smiled with such glee and malice that I stood up pushing the guards off of me, and started walking towards the king until Devika grabbed my arm shaking her head at me. "As I said before, I'm exiling her for treason".

"No your not." Devika said shrugging. chuckling under my breath I looked towards her she was still glaring at her father with everything she had, that my little goddess. I remember when i was on the receiving end of that glare. Shivering from the memory I looked back up at the king.
  
Scoffing he said "Yes I can, I'm the king, I can do whatever I see fit with her. I could even kill her now with a snap of my fingers." the king motions to one of the guards on my left but before he could evan move from his post behind me Devika had her dagger out and to his throat.
  
She laughed before saying "No, you couldn't kill her with a snap of your fingers, I would kill each and every last one of them before they eaven lay a hand on her, and of course she would have no trouble killing the men who forced her away form what she was doing before." Her look was furious, I have never seen her this mad before. Not even after I told her about what I actually do for a living. Of course she calmed down. Eventually.

"You can't kill anyone no mater what the captain has taught you. And what was so important Cordelia was doing that she couldn't come see me?"

Meeting the kings gaze, "Of coarse she can kill him, thats her chose." Shrugging my smile turned devilish. "On the other hand I was playing a game with your daughter so she doesn't bore herself to death sitting in her room all day." I saw her smile remembering how each time we would set up the chess board Nova, the dog of the ship would run right through the pieces.
   
Shaking her head at the memory Devika looked down at the poor man and cut his thought in one swift motion. Odysseus didn't even flinch as he watch one of his men lay on the floor after about ten minutes the man stoped moving and Odysseus spoke. "Well now that we have that out of our way, Cordelia captain of the sea rose has five days to pack her stuff and her crew out of this Kingdom."
   
I starred at the king in shock for a few minutes before bursting out in laughter. "You really think that you can say that and think that I would leave just like that?" I let my eyes wonder to the small amount of gourds around the room. that was stupid on his part, not having may gourds around the room when your trying to exile the worlds greatest pirate. Incredibly stupid if you ask me. as my gaze made it back to the kings I leapt at him with the dagger that was hidden away within my boot.
   
Before my blade can reach him the throne room doors opened and out came my crew each with two guards holding hem back and a third holding a swords to each of there throats. the king laughed at my dumbstruck face, "Your crew here were causing some trouble at the palace gates when they heard you where taken here." Odysseus stood up and pushed me back down the stars, thankfully Devika was there to catch me before I could fall. "Though you have caused me so much trouble, I am feeling merciful today and am willing to propose a deal with you."
   
Fuck, if my whole crew is being held its now not just be in danger. If I follow threw with what the king is saying will he let my crew go? Will he let me leave in peace? will he ever let me live in peace with my love? Its worth a shot. "Go on."
   
Grinning in triumph "In two years time you will bring back the hidden treasure of Solvieg and bring it back to this very throne room your exile will be lifted and you will be able to marry my daughter.
   
Solvieg was the old sunken island and you better pray for the ones who sailed there or got swept away in a storm, they will never be seen again. At least that's what the local fisherman say. Though I do believe in there stories about monsters roaming the sea, I don't believe that Solvieg is so dangerous that no one ever leaves alive. but if the king is willing to give up his daughter precious it must be as dangerous as they say.
 
I looked over at Devika, she was looking at me with complete confusion I would have laughed if it was any type of situation. "I did tell you about the legend of Solvieg right?" I only got a slight shake of the head in answer, sighing I said. "In short is a seres of monster infested islands with a treasure in the center."
   
"Ok, well still shouldn't that be easy? All you have to do is sail there and sneak past the monsters, or whatever, " she waved her hand around before continuing. "Get the treasure and come back."
  
"It's not that easy, love, Solvieg is surrounded by monsters and rough waters, you can't just sail in there blind and expect not to drown." She made on o shape with her mouth, turning back to the king, I gave him my best 'fuck with me, I dare you' smile. "When does the two years start? What will happen if I don't get the treasure to you before the two years? What will happen to Devika?"
 
"Well the first two years start in three days. If you don't get the treasure back to me in time I'll hang you, and Davila will get married soon after." Ok, bit dramatic but I could work with this.
   
Keeping my face emotionless I said "I'm bringing my crew and we get five days till the two years start. The two years ends and starts at midnight."
 
"You can't be serious." Turning my head I met Davila's eyes they were flooded in panic and all I wanted to do was tell her everything will be okay. "What if you don't make it back in time? What happens if you get eaten by monsters? What if-"
   
I stop her rambling by pulling her to my chest, running my hands through her hair "I will always come back to you my little goddess. No mater how far away I am I will always come back to you."As she stood up I smiled at her.
   
Leaning in one last time she whispered "I love you, captain of the sea rose.
"You have yourself a deal Odysseus. I will get you your treasure and return in two years time to marry your daughter."
   
The smile the king shot me sent shivers down my spine, and not in a good way. "Deal, your timer starts in five days. Prepare your crew, captain."

                            ~Five days later~

On the docks standing next to my ship with my crew yelling behind us, Devika said. "Come back to me, I can't lose you no matter what happens."
   
I walked closer to her pulling her face up so she looked up at me. "I will always come back to you and I love you no matter what, never forget that. I will see you soon my little goddess. I promise it will feel like I'm gone for only a few days."
   
She sighed "I know, I love you, please come back soon. I can't bare to be away from you for so long."
   
I kissed her once on each corner of her mouth. having no clue of how I'm going to survive this trip, I leaned down and kissed her on the lips. Backing away quickly before we got to carried away. I smiled at her "I will come back as soon as I can love and when I do the first thing I do will be to marry you. Now I must go," posing I remembered something about the king, "but your father has a few teleporting fire thingies or whatever you call them."
   
Devika laughed shaking her head, "You mean a shifting phoenix?" she looked up at me in amusement "My father does have few of those that we could use to write to each other."
   
"Yes a phoenix, though I much prefer teleporting fire thingy myself."
   
Devika laughed again and gods it was the most beautiful sound in the world, before I could say anything more there was a shout "Captain! Either get a room or get on this ship before it sails away without you!"
   
Both me and Devika laughed, "I guess I should go before they leave without me. I love you."
   
"I love you too. Remember to come back to me."
