This chapter is based on Pokemon Unite, so if you've ever played that, it's basically the same thing, but just changed up a bit to fit the story.

The Pokemon in this story have human intelligence, meaning they have made the same advancements the humans in the original series have. There are no trainers in this story. No human beings.

Absol felt herself rise up and watched everything around her turn into a light blue light. The world was finally seen when she appeared in the air of a floating platform with metal paths surrounding the green fields where holographic Pokemon wandered. There was a circular, gray center piece with walls around it and an opening to the south of it.

The dark-type Pokemon fell onto her feet, landing in a crouch on the metal floor with a grunt. A Sylveon landed gracefully beside her, followed by 3 other Pokemon; A Dragonite, Crustle, and Mr. Mime. The white and dull blue Pokemon turned to the fairy-type Eeveelution with a scowl on her face then quickly turned her attention above her as she heard a high-pitched voice from the sky.

Above the five Pokemon flew an Emolga, calming the crowd on the floating benches to the side of the platform where the United Games would begin. "Welcome to the United Games! A place where no matter the situation, we can all come to peace and enjoy the battles, whether you're a spectator or a competitor!" The flying Pokemon exclaimed cheerfully. "I'm Emi, and I'm the commentator for this year's games! Now, let's go over the rules: Number one. No physically hurting your opponents! Number two. No holding grudges, even if a war is going on! Number three. The United Games are supposed to be a time for everyone to have fun, so no being mean. Number four. You must start as a pre-evolved Pokemon. If you do not have an evolution line, then you will stay as your current form. So let's go ahead and get that started..."

The Sylveon next to Absol de-evolved into an Eevee, as well as the Dragonite into a Dratini and Crustle into a Dwebble.

"Great! You will have 10 minutes to finish the game. Now, let the first battle of the United Games... Begin!" Emi, the Emolga, said.

Absol started off with a sprint. The speed boost she had when she was in her team's area helped her rush to the middle even faster. She ran in between the two walls that created an opening which led to the middle fields. She slashed at each holographic Pokemon she saw, which shortly respawned after a few seconds.

She finally skidded to a stop after dashing into a Bouffalant, looking back to the Bash Buffalo Pokemon with a smirk on her face.

She then looked up in front of her. "Map!" She ordered. A holographic map of the circular platform which had round pictures of her teammates and the other team showed up in front of her. "Move set!" Two pictures symbolizing moves showed up in front of her. Another two popped above the one called 'Feint', showing a silhouette of an Absol attacking something, and one of an Absol dashing towards something.

"Night slash," she said. The picture of an Absol dashing replaced the move 'Feint'.  She then looked at the map, muttering, "Now, which one of my team members need my help..." She carefully observed the map, her eyes following each competitor as they moved. "The bottom, I need to go to the bottom path. Map!" The map disappeared and she ran South from where she was.

When she reached the middle of the bottom path, there was a Charmeleon on a purple circle built into the floor, charging up to score as a ball of energy formed in front of it. Absol quickly dashed towards the red, lizard-like Pokemon, stopping it from scoring. It turned around to her, fire blasting out of its mouth and leaving her with a burn. She slashed at its cheek. They both continuously gave each other the 'standard attacks' until the Charmeleon's health was low and it started running away. Absol continued to charge after it, though, and it was soon stopped by a Dragonair, who finished it off with a warm, purple gust of wind exhaled from its mouth.

This is my chance!

Absol quickly ran to a yellow hoop opposite of the purple, but was stopped by a low-HP Duraludon who charged by her, eating a berry on the other side of the hoop then standing at it, ready to defend.

Dragonair used Dragon Breath on it, which was quickly deflected with Dragon Pulse. The two Pokemon continued to battle, and while Duraludon was distracted, Absol snuck towards the hoop and scored 14 points.

The crowd cheered.

She could see her younger brother, an Umbreon, in the stands, eating popcorn as he cheered for her. Her dad, an Absol, sat in the seat next to him, calming him down as he threw some popcorn in the air with excitement.

A proud grin grew across her face, but she was soon knocked out as the Duraludon slashed at her with metal claws. She respawned at the starting point, wide-eyed with surprise from the sudden attack. She shook off the surprise, about to launch off to continue leveling up, but got distracted when a Corviknight flew up in the air, pushing Emi off the small platform she was resting on and taking the spot for himself.

As the platform hovered above the field, dark clouds grew around the arena and he lifted his left wing, as if he had something important to say. "Queen Umber has fallen under my talons!" He announced, his claws gripping onto the platform. "The Royal Family is no longer welcome in my castle. Oh, and I suppose they're here, at the games? What a sad place to find out."

The world around Absol disappeared. She could only see herself and the proud, smirking Corviknight. Mom's dead? She looked up at the dark bird, eyes narrowed. This meant that he would take over. And that meant Absol, the princess of the dark kingdom, would have to leave the dark castle.
