Xeno grumpily picked his feet up above the 3 foot deep snow as Cinder rested on his back. She had somehow managed to convince him to give her a piggyback ride. Cold, dry winds blew harshly against the duo and blizzards threatened to come, but Xeno kept marching on.

As they got closer to the Fire Kingdom, the two Pokemon could hear battle cries and cries for help.

"I wonder what's happening," Cinder said.

"Yeah, me, too. It could be another battle, so, just in case we need to run, how about you hop off my back?" Xeno said, annoyed.

"Oh, yeah, you have a point." The cinderace kicked off Xeno's back, doing a back-flip in the air and landing on her feet.

"Ow!" Poor Xeno. Having to deal with such an energetic cinderace such as Cinder.

As they cautiously continued towards the Fire Kingdom, they saw a yellow feline Pokemon. The Pokemon's fist seemed to be charged up with an electric energy as it punched a fox-like fire-type Pokemon who held a stick, the end of it on fire, in her hand. An Incineroar jumped in front of the electric-type feline, blocking the attack, and used Flamethrower on it.

"Why are they attacking their own citizen? Did he do something wrong? I mean, I think he's a Fire Kingdom citizen. He seems like an electric type," Cinder questioned, tilting her head to the side.

"He looks like Zeraora. I think he used to be good friends with Queen Jolteon," Xeno mentioned.

"Oh. Huh. Well, he looks like he needs help, so come on."

"Cinder, I don't think that's the best idea-"

Cinder interrupted Xeno as she pulled him closer to the battle with his wrist. She jumped over the stream that bordered the Ice Kingdom, letting go of Xeno's wrist and charging towards the yellow, fox-like Pokemon. Her foot became engulfed in fire as she kicked the Pokemon in the side.

The incineroar came for support, but Xeno rushed in, using Aura Sphere on the muscular cat-like Pokemon. Cinder and Xeno ran next to each other in front of Zeraora, protecting the injured feline Pokemon while facing the delphox and incineroar. Cinder looked over her shoulder to Zeraora, who was sitting down, and said, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine! I don't need your help," Zeraora hissed.

"We just want your help, Zeraora," the delphox said. "It's the queen's orders! You're friends with her!"

"No, I'm not," Zeraora said. "Not anymore. She threw away our friendship when her and the king became mates and she was announced queen."

"Are you disrespecting the royal family of the Fire Kingdom?" The delphox's voice sounded irritated.

"Maybe so, and I have every right to- Ow!" As he tried to get up, Zeraora winced in pain from the burn on his leg and shot back down.

"Maybe it's better to rest, you seem pretty badly injured," Cinder suggested.

"No-! Ow... You know what, you two can handle this," Zeraora said.

The delphox spread her legs and slightly crouched down for better balance, baring her teeth, while the incineroar did the same, except he held his paws up with his claws unsheathed and had a confident smirk on his face.

"I guess we have to fight, now," Xeno muttered. Him and Cinder got into a fighting position, also, standing side-by-side. Delphox charged at Cinder and Incineroar, at Xeno. Just as the delphox was about to attack, Cinder hopped over her, and, as she landed, she noticed a braixen standing a few feet away from the battle. It had black, rectangular glasses and the red fluff in the right ear seemed neatly brushed while the fluff in its left ear fell over the cheek and looked messy.
