Morning came as a blizzard harshly blew outside, leaving the outside world of blood-stained snow abandoned. More, clean, fresh snowflakes piled up on top of the white and red fluffy snow and wet, clear-blue, cold ice.

Anger rose inside as royal servants and guards hurried around the palace, looking for the princess. Queen Ninetales hissed icy breaths in rage, shouting curses and angry orders at the guards and servants.

"Where is she?! Find her! Are you even looking?!"

A froslass followed closely behind her as she rushed around the palace. The froslass left the queen's side to go look under the stairs that led up to the royal rooms, which included the queen's room, the princess's room, the throne room, and others. She'd find an Alolan Vulpix laying down with an upset look on her face.

"Queen Ninetales!" The froslass called. "I found her."

"Really?" Ninetales said. She walked over by the froslass. "Oh, thank goodness! I was worried sick. Thanks, uh..."

"Froslass, ma'am."

"Yes! My most loyal and wonderful servant. Now, come here, Diamond. And get that upset look off your face, you're a princess, for Rayquaza's sake. At least try to look pretty."

"Y- Yes ma'am," the vulpix mumbled.

Queen Ninetales looked her daughter up and down. "Speak up, please. No one likes a quiet princess. Come join me and Frossie for breakfast. Let's go, hun."

"I'm coming." Diamond followed her mom up the stairs she hid under to the royal dining room, which had a long table with multiple fancy chairs along it. The fanciest was at the end of the table, where the queen and/or king sat.

Diamond never understood why such a small family needed such a big room and table just to eat, but she never asked questions. She never asked her mom any questions. She was expected to live a perfect life and live under her parents' expectations, no questions asked. She wasn't allowed to talk back, even when she really should've. She wasn't allowed to ask questions about the royal family, or it would be seen as disrespect towards her kingdom. Yet people resented her because she lived a 'perfect' life.

For breakfast was frozen Oran and Yache berries, as well as fried Arrokuda. After finishing her breakfast, Diamond was allowed to her room until her mom said otherwise. Finally, she can go up to her room and listen to music instead of being expected to do everything perfectly. She can mess up as many times as she wants and not get in any trouble. She can draw and write and read instead of being expected for someone to do it for her, as if she's a helpless baby.

So she did that; She walked to her room and put on her headphones, reading her favorite book about myths from the mountains far away from the kingdoms, waiting for her mom to call her name.

"Diamond! Come say hi to these very special guests!"

Once they reached the border of the Forest Kingdom, in front of them stood a tall wall of thorns. Fresh, green brambles were planted in front of it. The Forest Kingdom seemed much more lush and green than the Dark Kingdom.

"The Forest Kingdom seems so pretty!" Cinder said. "What's it doing so close to such a scary place like here?"

"I once read in a book that the Dark Kingdom used to be part of the Forest Kingdom, but when a war started, the Fire Kingdom burnt down a small portion of it. That's why the Dark Kingdom has so many dead plants enchanted with an evil aura," Xeno explained.

"Pfft. Okay, nerd."

"Whatever. We need to find a way past this."

"Can't we just jump?"
