Rage was awakened by a knock on his door. He sat up wondering who it could be. He quickly got dressed and opened the door. As he did he was immediately tackled to the floor.
"Woah! Jaz calm down!" He said.
"Opps." Jazaxy said a little embarrassed "Got a little carried away there."
She stood up letting Rage get to his feet and then she hugged him. Rage grinned and hugged her back.
"I'm so proud of you! You did great out there! That idea to throw your blade was top notch! I never in a million years would have thought of that! Amazing job! Ten out of ten! No, eleven out of ten!" Jazaxy said happily.
"Thanks Jaz."
"Good job son. Your mother would be proud."
Rage's eyes widened and Jazaxy stepped back to reveal Rage's father. Rage was hesitant at first but his father opened his arms and Rage ran up to hug him.
"Thank you dad. I love you."
"I love you too son. I should have at least let you decide weather you wanted to be a hunter or not, instead of me deciding for you. Although were getting a little ahead of ourselves don't ya think? You finished the first trial but there's still two more to go before you are accepted into the academy." Rage's father said.
Rage nodded. He stepped away from his father and smiled.
"I'm all for it." he said.
Rage's father and Jazaxy smiled.
"Also what are you guys doing here this late? Its like, I don't know, four?"
"Its actually six. We came to wake you for today's trial." Jazaxy said.
"Oh."
Rage closed the door and changed into his armor and sheathed his dual blades. He opened the door again and stepped out into the hall where Jazaxy and Rage's father stood waiting. He closed the door and they walked down the hall to the briefing room. After yesterday's trial 97 of the original 145 contestants were left. Rage saw Jarger across the room and waved to him. Jarger grinned and waved back. Prudens cleared his throat and everyone looked to him.
"Alright trainees, listen up!" He said "Today is the day of the second trial! Today we will test your knowledge of the monsters you hunt! If you can't identify the monsters and plants of this world how will you survive out there?! Well today we will see which of you paid attention in biology."

The crowed laughed. Prudens grinned. He stepped to the side to reveal a giant map of Domum and the surrounding land. He pointed to a spot on the map that read 'Flooded Forest'.
"This is where we are headed! The Flooded Forest! We will set out today and return in two days! Now go gather your gear and prepare. We leave at noon. Dismissed."
