Heart & Head

Breaking: Dispatch caught Jeno and Giselle of the Midnight had a date night in a fancy restaurant.

yangyang scoffed in disbelief. "you guys went to have lobster without us?"
"even worst, they didn't bring anything back." hendery crossed his arms.

"it just happened-"
jeno came into the practice room with a lunch takeout. "who want the food?."

yangyang raised his brow. "is that lobster?" referring to the lunch packed.
"no, but it's beef stew from your favorite place-" before he even finished, the packages were snatched away by hendery, as yangyang quickly followed.
"you're always the best, nono."

jeno rolled his eyes. "whatever, just shut up."
"okay, deal." giving him a flying kisses before dery shoved a piece of meat into his mouth.

"won't you join them?"
aeri denied. "I just had brunch about an hour ago."

there was a silent afterwards.
usually, it's a comfortable silent, and both preferred it this way. however, it just seems off to her.
she looked up, as expected, their eyes met. the fact that he didn't even flinch, made her uneasy.
"a-anything on my face?"

"do you think your father's client would give us second chance?"
"you mean, mrs. im?"
he hummed.

aeri got up, putting her guitar back down gently. "jen. we talked about this last night. my dad would not allow it."
"but, it's the only chance, ri." he followed her outside the room.
"why are you so sure she's the person your brother's looking for."
"it's my instinct. and it does not hurt to try. we won't lose anything-"
"my dad would." aeri turned to give him the warning glares. "I don't like to interfere this thing. I hope you understand-"

"aeri." he stepped closer to her, gently grabbed her hands, trying to gain her assurance. "just for once, let me talk to your dad about it."
aeri let out a sigh of discomfort. he's put her in a complicated situation. "jen-"
"I would do the talking. If anything, i'd be the one to take the blame. just-..." he squeezed her hands. "just give me a chance."

the look of sincerity and hope in his eyes weakened her protectiveness. "fine."

they immediately went to the hotel of where her father accommodated.
as soon as they've arrived, jeno received a phone call from their manager.

"lee jeno, are you losing your mind?!" it was not manager yoon. in fact, it's director kang.
"how do you know, sir-"
"the media caught you again! you two are the hottest topic at the moment, for sure they have people stalking you everywhere, every actions. the news this morning had not died down yet, and you're now bringing her to the hotel, in the daylight?! what are you thinking!?"

"we're here for some personal business, sir." jeno was calm despite the anger expressed from the other line. in fact, he was confused. aeri also gave him a look of confusion. he shrugged and gave a sign for them to continue.

"you kids! we told you to fake the date, not to make it this obvious, jen. we're dealing with calls, medias, and even opportunity losses right here, and you two are making it even harder for us."

now, that was uncalled for.
"sorry, sir. we literally are trying our best here."
"uh huh? if so, get out of that hotel right now before you stirred another controversy-"
"what's controversial about coming to the hote-"

they walked passed a room where sinful noise of couple was clearly heard.
and that's when it rings a bell in his head.

"-oh..."

the way he immediately caught the look on aeri's face, made it even more awkward.

manager yoon brought yangyang and dery to the same hotel, creating a fake scenario. so, the company would be able to respond to the media that the band was actually meet up with the foreign producers at the hotel meeting room.
