The Gryffindor and Ravenclaw students all left Transfiguration together and headed to the History of Magic classroom.
The first years from both houses sat through a very long hour of Professor Binns droning on about the history of the self stirring cauldron. It was entertaining to watch the looks of awe that the muggle born students had on their faces when they walked in to see that their teacher was a ghost.
No matter how hard Astara tried to pay attention, she found herself tuning out while staring out of the window which overlooked the training grounds, where the flying lessons would be held later on.
Lily Evans seemed to be the only one paying rapt attention to what the ghost Professor was teaching, occasionally writing down notes on important details that they probably needed to remember for exams. Oh well, thought Astara, she would read the textbook later and probably get more out of it than whatever Professor Binns was talking about.
The Gryffindor boys at the back had given up trying to pay attention not even fifteen minutes into the lesson. Now, James and Sirius were throwing paper planes to each other and the other boys were laughing quietly amongst themselves. Well, Remus was still trying to listen to Professor Binns but occasionally found that he was listening in on their conversations and tuning out the lecture on the history of cauldrons.
The lesson couldn't go by fast enough for all those who found themselves falling asleep from their Professor's droning voice. When the lesson was finally over, everyone rushed out of the classroom eager to get to lunch, only Lily Evans stayed back and asked Professor Binns if there was any homework.
"There is no homework yet Miss Eaton." Lily received as a reply and walked out of the classroom to meet up with her friends looking crestfallen.
Alice was the first person to ask about the red head's crushed mood. "What's wrong Lily?"
The emerald green eyes looked up and Astara noticed that she was genuinely upset.
"I asked Professor Binns if he was going to assign us any homework since everyone else ran out before he could say anything and said 'No Miss Eaton.' If he didn't know my name, he could've just asked instead of getting it completely wrong! Did I do something wrong?" Lily rants to the other girls.
Marlene cut off Lily before she could continue to express her worries and frustrations. "Don't worry about it Lily. It's only the first day. He will know your name in no time."
"Don't take it personally, my cousin told me that he doesn't remember anyone's name." Astara adds on. Rodolphus had told the twins and Rabastan all how Professor Binns had supposedly died in his sleep one night and woke up the next day and continued on teaching.
Lily just huffed and the girls shrugged at each other and continued to walk towards the Great Hall for lunch.
On the way, Astara spots her brother and his friends. "You guys go ahead, I'm going to go talk to my brother." She says to her dormmates before running up to where Adrian is.
James is the first one to spot her walking up to them. "Hi little Lestrange!" He exclaims, catching the other boys' attention and they all turn to face her.
"Little Lestrange? We're twins." She replies, talking almost directly to Adrian.
"Yes, but I am still older." Adrian points out smugly.
Astara huffs in overexaggerated defeat causing a laugh to come from James, Sirius and Peter, and a small smile to come from Remus who was the most quiet in the group.
"Anyway, I need to talk to you." Astara says to Adrian, her eyes completely serious.
Adrian notices this and says goodbye to his friends before following his sister just outside the Great Hall. They both stopped in the hallway and when Astara was certain that there was no one around who could eavesdrop on their conversation, she started speaking.
