Chapter 6 - Partners

On the way to Jimmy's Bar, Connor hears a voice and at Todd's house Maddie hears a voice. They both start to sing to it.

'I can hear you but I won't,' Maddie told Connor.

'Some look for trouble while others don't,' Connor replied rather surprised.

'There's a thousand reasons I should go about my day.'

'And ignore your whispers which I wish would go away. Oh.'

Connor vocalized a bit and Maddie gave a small reply to it.

'You're not a voice! You're just ringing in my ear!' Connor said not wanting to believe it.

'And if I heard you, which I don't, I'm spoken for I fear,' Maddie said to him, 'Everyone I've ever loved is here within this Android and little girl. I'm sorry, secret siren, but I'm blocking out your calls.'

'I've had my adventure, I don't need something new. I'm afraid of what I'm risking if I follow you.'

'Into the unknown! Into the unknown!'

'Into the unknown!' they both said

They both started vocalizing.

'What do you want? 'Cause, you've been keeping me awake!' Maddie said.

'Are you here to distract me so I make a big mistake?' Connor asked, 'Or are you someone out there who's a little bit like me? Who knows deep down, I'm not where I'm meant to be?'

'Every day's a little harder as I feel the power grow. Don't you know there's part of me that longs to go!'

'Into the unknown? Into the unknown.'

'Into the unknown,' they both said.

Maddie vocalized their call again.

'Oohh... Are you out there?' Connor asked.

'Do you know me?' Maddie asked.

'Can you feel me?'

'Can you show me?'

They start taking turns doing their call while the spirits of the past that Maddie was told about started to show visions to them both. They both saw the city at war but only from the humans side, their meeting but not showing each other's faces, and them going on many wild adventures before disappearing.

'Where are you going? Don't leave me alone!' Connor begged both Maddie and the spirit.

'How do I follow you...' Maddie started.

'You.'

'Into the unknown?'

'Whoa!'

Maddie goes back to sleep mode and Connor enters Jimmy's Bar.

Derek Myers: Shit, I thought androids weren't allowed in here!

Christopher Gray: What's your problem? You wanna buy me a drink? That's what I thought...

Kim Yo-Han: The fuck you looking at?

Dennis Ward: Hey, get outta here!

Connor: Lieutenant Anderson and Officer Anderson, my name is Connor. I'm the android sent by CyberLife. I looked for you two at the station but nobody knew where you two were. They said you were probably having a drink nearby and that Officer Anderson was watching over you. I was lucky to find you two at the fifth bar.

Hank: What do you want?

Connor: You two were assigned a case early this evening. A homicide, involving a CyberLife android. In accordance with procedure, the company has allocated a specialized model to assist investigators.
