Rendore was speaking with the Mendaris master.
"Your clan shall take the watch tonight, and my knights can patrol the-" he stopped as a thunderous clap emerged from the north side of camp.
"Is that your Lightning God?" he asked. He had seen Herobrine briefly, and respected his strength even as a king.
The master shook his head. "That was cannon fire."
The King of the End grimaced, his helmet hiding his worried face. "I'll go see what's transpiring."
Running out of his tent, Rendore tried to convince himself this was a drill, but was faced with the question of why the Ardoni would detonate live ammunition for a drill. He vaguely heard shouts that sounded like battle cries, but pushed that out of his mind.
"My lord!" An Enderknight yelled. "There's-"
"I know!" he shouted as he ran. "Be vigilant!"
As he crossed the final hill, he observed Ardoni from all four clans going from their sections of camp to this area. Then, he saw a Voltaris.
He was engaged in conversation with the young man who Rendore had promoted, along with a couple Sendaris officers. As he stared, the Voltaris bowed his head, seeming regretful and mournful, then turned around to face away from camp. He followed the lone soldier's gaze, and watched as his clansmen came to his aid, hundreds of them streaming out into the Nestoris camp, waving swords and axes as they ran.
Sarrettus quickly unsheathed his sword just as their enemies descended upon them. He slashed his sword to the left. Watching as his first victim of the battle fell, he turned and saw a young boy, armed with only a small axe.
"Turn back, swine," Sarrettus said, brandishing his sword. "Your youth doesn't earn much of my sympathies."
"I don't need your sympathies, murderer!" the boy yelled as he slashed at Sarrettus. Dodging the blow, Sarrettus spun his sword in a wide arc. A preparatory move, but also one to try and scare the child off. The boy was ferocious, going for a second strike, and then a third, both dodged by the Captain."You slayed my people–" The child brought his blade down onto Sarrettus' sword. "You burn our towns–" he spun the blade in a circle. "And now you'll burn! We will have our vengeance!"
Something about these words struck Sarrettus as he blocked a few more blows. Then, as the child's axe nearly descended upon his arm, he remembered hearing them spoken from outside Ontretheia's walls, when the Voltaris first came out of hiding. They were spoken by a scared young boy, who he had personally arrested, shoved against a cell wall, and muttered a curse upon him under his breath as he walked away. Now, he was a bit taller, and had aged a few months, but the eyes that shone with murderous rage were those of a much older and traumatized man. The boy's red markings gleamed in the sunset as he smashed against Sarrettus' blade, a childhood of anger smashing against the tiring officer.
"That sword has slain hundreds of innocents!" The youth screamed.
Sarrettus jumped backwards. "Your people are hardly sinless!"
The Voltaris prepared another strike, but Sarrettus fought back this time. Spinning his sword into a ready position, he slashed against the youth as a barrage of cannon fire slung against the camp, bashing into the hills and blowing up the land. He channeled the Aggroprime to launch a blow against the boy. Deafened by the earth-shaking noise, the two Ardoni ran at each other, each wanting nothing more than vengeance for what the other's tribe had done to them.
Acchilean ran straight into the fray of Voltaris, using his staff to blast them with his Aggrobeam. Cutting through Voltaris after Voltaris, he sawed them in half with the raw, red beam of his Song. Noticing a Mobillium song fall to the ground from a Voltaris, he picked it up. Noticing its oblong marks, he concluded it was a Mobillibounce, bloodstained and worn down. He chopped through his enemies until he saw his former brother, corrupted by the song and his own passions.
