Ingressus raised his blade. "My brothers!" He yelled, surrounded by trees. "This is Sendaria. This is where our forefather's murderers were born!"
The Voltaris clenched their blades.
"This is where it was decided that we would be exiled, where the Prime Songs were stolen from us!"
The Voltaris gritted their teeth. Tygren stood by Ingressus, watching him deliver his pre-battle speech. He had earned Ingressus' respect during their operations together. When they had gone to King Chronos to form an alliance, he had demonstrated his competence. Now, he was serving at Ingressus' right hand.
"We will pursue justice! We will reclaim the fourth Prime! We will make things right! And it starts here, at their army's heart!"
The Voltaris waited no longer. With Ingressus leading them, they ran to their foes, the Nether waiting to help them box the Sendaria Militia in.
Pythus knew it was time. He heard the thunderous cries of the Voltaris. He called off his TNT cannons and beckoned his army behind him. His archers fired a volley over his troops' heads, letting their flaming arrows fly through the sunset-shrouded sky. He swung his sword in an arc, killing two Sendaris guards. Three arrows flew past his ears, killing more foes. He readied his weapon for another strike, and smiled. Finally, after so many years.
Honor.
Thalleous banged on the door of the medical wing. It was quickly opened. He rushed Aegus past several medics, set him on a bed, and clenched the Aggressium Prime.
"Thalleous!" Aegus wheezed.
"Yes, Ky-Aegus," Thalleous inquired.
"The Aggressium prime, I should not have surrendered it, I should have kept it, It was mine..."
Thalleous did not know how to respond to this.
"Could have kept it safe, could have hidden it, but now..."
Aegus stopped talking, wheezing out breathes. He choked out his words slowly.
"I...hid...Ingressus...I hid his weapon...I allowed him to compete...I disobeyed my instincts...all my fault..."
Thalleous knelt by Aegus.
"I saw the signs...knew he would seek vengeance...knew he wanted to...get the Primes...I did not protect the masters...all my fault..."
"He is delirious," A medic who had just arrived whispered to Thalleous. "The songs have not aided his health. Go fight, Champion. Go fulfill your title."
Thalleous obeyed.
Sarrettus yelled as a Voltaris attacked him. He had been roused from his post at a moment's notice and stationed at the courtyard. He slashed at the Voltaris warrior, spilling his organs onto the ground. He readied his blade, prepared for another assault.
As Thalleous ran into the battle, he thought about what Aegus had said. Was the war really the Nestoris master's fault, or was he simply raving, driven temporarily insane by the pain and shock of his injuries?
Thalleous cut through a netheran's tough skin, slashing through a second. His concern for Aegus fueled him as he blasted through a row of enemies with the Aggrobeam ability of his Prime. An Aggrovortex cut through the trees, killing several wither skeletons.
His questions could wait. Now was the time for him to fight.
