In days prior Romina had heard that Dawn's mother was not the greatest. But when she learned that Dawn was staying out of town for a while it became a concern.

Her sister, Uriel, had gifted her the old laptop so Romina decided to call Dawn.

She answered almost immediately. "Oh hey, Romina, what's up?"

"I heard you were staying out of town? Is something going on?" She asked her eyes darting across the screen.

"Yeah, my mom and dad had a huge fight and my dad took me on vacation with my grandma for a while. It's actually quite nice here! My window faces the Crystal Coast" she said as she turned the camera around.

"This is such a cool place!" She said, she didn't seem phased by her mother and father's issues.

"Will you be back for the festival?" Romina had been helping her mother these past few weeks with preparations and couldn't wait to show her friends what had been set up.

"Um yeah, my aunt and uncle will be coming over soon too. My grandma Luna wants to see the festival, I personally think she's just trying to protect my dad" Dawn said with a hint of sadness in her tone. Dawn exited her room and walked into what looked to be a kitchen. "Lulu this is my friend Romina," Dawn said to a woman as she handed her the phone.

"Hello Romina, my granddaughter had told me so much about you and your friends," the woman said smiling at Romina.

"I'm so excited for everyone to be coming to the festival me and my mom have been hard at work," Romina said. Something bit at her, Dawn was clearly avoiding talking about her mother.

Dawn took the phone from Luna and returned to her room. "Anyways, was there anything else you needed from me? I gotta call Casey he said he needed help with his homework or something" She lied, she didn't want to think about her home for the moment.

"Uh no, I just wanted to make sure you were okay," Romina said before they said their goodbyes and Dawn hung up.

Dawn lay on her bed for a bit before Luna knocked on the door. "Dear your aunt and uncle will be here in a bit if you want to freshen up. I'm going to go check on Skoll"

"Okay, thank you, Lulu," she said staring at the unmoving closed door. Dawn always wanted to protect her friends, even if that meant lying to them about her situation. Her mother was getting dangerous to be around Before she knew it Lovett and Grimmwulf were already here. Her father didn't seem to want to socialize, nor had he eaten all day. This was the furthest he had gone in a long time. He hadn't left his room since they had gotten here.

"There's my favorite niece!" Lovett said enthusiastically as she hugged Dawn, "you've gotten tall" she said stroking Dawn's long hair. Dawn had been thinking about cutting it soon.

"I'm your only niece, and thank you I've been eating my vegetables," Dawn said puffing out her chest in a failed attempt to look bigger. It didn't matter how big she was for the moment.

"Don't forget to eat your meat, it's healthy for werewolves" Grimm said as he ruffled Dawn's hair. "Hey! You've still got your tail" he commented staring at the short little tail sticking out from the top of her shorts. It waved back and forth at a steady pace.

"I only recently transformed Grimm" Dawn said glaring up at him. He glared back as he towered over her. Grimmwulf was a very lanky and tall werewolf, especially when put near his older brother Skoll. He had dark grayish hair like Skoll but he was missing the white streaks. He, like the rest of the family, went by his middle name. His first name was actually Vincent, Dawn never pried into this odd tradition the whole family always held.
