November

A figure grabbed me in the darkness, covering my mouth, his tongue went to my nape as he his dark breath wafted to my nose.

I jerked away, thrashing against him as he gripped me tighter, I kicked him in the shin, running out of my room.

I ran and ran, the corridor stretching as the walls screeched, I covered my ears, pushing myself to move further and suddenly the scene changed.

My hardwood floors morphed into moist soil before my very eyes, twigs and stones digging into the soles of my feet. The walls and the pictures on them morphed into trees that seemed to reach the heavens.

A forest.

There was little to no light as I ran, using my hands flailing wildly in front of me as my only from of navigation.

I turned back briefly, my lungs hurting as I gasped, trying to take in more air. The hooded figure came into view, seemingly gliding over the wet soil while I raced to god fucking knows.

I tripped over a log, scratching my knee against a stone as I crawled, bloodied and frenzied.

The hooded figure closed in on me, he pressed my neck to the ground, I clawed at him, my vision became clouded with black and white dots, I opened my mouth as he punched me, my skull making an odd cracking sound.

Tears and blood flowed out of my eyes as the hooded figure's mouth opened all the way to the back. It looked like oblivion itself. It grew tentacles of nothingness, which reached for me in the dark, dragging my almost lifeless body into the void.

I sat up in bed, soaked from head to toe with sweat, my dress stuck to my body and my duvet had a me shaped sweat outline on it. The gentle hum of the A.C did nothing to calm my erratic heart.

It felt as though all the blood in my body had rushed to my head. I put my head in my hands telling myself to take deep breaths.

Newsflash! It didn't fucking work.

My lungs burned as I tried to breath, my heart seemingly wanting to beat it's way out of my chest.

I lifted my shirt to my chest, wiping it viciously as Idara snored from beside me. For once I was grateful he had his dumb noise cancelling headphones on.

Dry ice streamed out the air conditioner, cooling me off as I fumbled around my vanity for my inhaler, my medicine.

I picked it up but it slipped out of my trembling hands. I bent down, feeling around for it in the dark.

Velma much?

I found it and gripped it with both hands, taking huge puffs out of it until I finally calmed down. I slowly stood up, walking over and turning off the A.C

The sun stretched over the horizon lazily, tiny streaks of sunlight coming in through my blinds, I decided it was pointless trying to go back to sleep. I decided to get ready for school.

I quickly got ready as my playlist was on random, I set it to my chill mix, stripping as Billie Eillish came on, her vocals taking me out of this world. I let the hot water cascade down my back, willing to welcome the burn for a few minutes.

I was soon done as I tip toed out of the bathroom and into my closet.

Staring at myself in the mirror, I really took time to admire my figure for the first time in awhile.

Over the summer, I had filled out more and gotten more toned. Perks of exercise. My stomach was flatter and my waist was smaller. My butt was firmer and a bit bigger and my dark skin shone under my dim closet lights.
