Rose’s POV

It is Saturday morning and I decide to make some chocolate chip pancakes, because I am randomly in the mood for them. I’ll make some for my parents and Aaron, as well; they’ll love it, I think. I make a mess because I am not exactly expert at this. I’m still in my pajamas because I am in my house and I don’t have to dress up for anyone here. Then, I hear several yawns and footsteps and I turn around to see my brother Aaron and Tyson, both sporting bedhead. I laugh because they are wearing pajamas and aren’t acting like arrogant boys, just regular got-out-of-bed-too-tired-to-care  boys.

Tyson helps me make the pancakes, even though I explicitly told him not to, I didn’t want his help. I can make pancakes by myself; by insisting to help he’s assuming I can’t handle it on my own. I can and will, I don’t need him. Not everyone needs and wants Tyson Steele, especially not me.

Besides the pestering from Tyson, we all had a great time. We were laughing, joking around and eating tons of delicious pancakes. Delicious in spite of Tyson’s help, or maybe they were good because he helped… No, probably not.

Tyson had to go afterwards because his mom called and he rushed out, it seemed important but he didn’t say what is was. We let him go, without intruding into his privacy, when he’s ready he’ll probably tell Aaron. I wont know and I don’t care, its his business and for all I know it could be nothing, just his mom or himself exaggerating. Aaron helps me wash the dishes and he starts talking

“Did you know Delilah likes Tyson?”

“Yeah, I don’t know who doesn’t know, she’s pretty obvious,” I say honestly

“Does Tyson know?” he asks

“I don’t know, maybe; he doesn’t care either way. He’s never liked anyone truly. He just likes appearances and himself. Nothing more, he’s that vain and superficial.”

“That’s a little harsh, considering we were all having fun, hanging out seconds ago. Nice to know you talk about your friends the second they are out of sight,” he says while narrowing his eyes

“Oh, c’mon, I’m not being mean I’m just being honest,” I justify myself

“Well, if you know he doesn’t like her, why do you allow her to still fawn over him? That’s not being a good friend. She should know that other people out there like her, will treat her right.” He says with big eyes

“I tried, but she doesn’t listen, she’s intent on getting him to like her. I know, it’s really pathetic.”

“Do you think if she knew that someone else liked her, she’d stop liking him?”

“Maybe, why? Is there someone out there who likes her?” I ask curiously

“Yeah”

“Is that person you?” I ask, my suspicions rising. He blushes and looks away.

“I don’t know”

“You so like her! You just got bright, tomato red!” I squeal

“I did, but she’s not being herself and I can't handle being rejected so many times. I think I should just get over her and move on. For my sanity and health, I think that is what is best,” he says sadly but truthfully.

“No no no! You have to go and tell her! You know her, you know the real her, if she hears you say the truth about your feelings towards her, she’ll come around. What do you have to lose by telling her? You guys haven’t even been speaking to each other lately.”

“Fine, I guess I’ll tell her. By the way, Tyson is not that bad, I’m not friends with people for no reason. ”

I roll my eyes, “the fact that you had to say that he is not THAT bad, means he’s bad. One way or another. Just go and set Delilah straight, I miss the old her.”
