I was once again in this weird place, but this time it was a little brighter but I still wasn't able to grasp how big the place was, as the grassland spread endlessly and a heavy feeling was growing up on me, as if the darkness of everything had been aging for eons. I started to look around when my breathing starting to fail, I had to fight to grasp some air and it wasn't enough...I was in an open field yet I felt my body constricting and I was soon knelled down suffocating as I met his eyes on the ground, a shapeless figure staring at me with eyes overflowing happiness yet, It gave me the worst chills I had ever felt as it followed with my whole body burning as I was forced down on the ground getting closer to this being which was deep underground, closer and closer the pain was unbearable as I closed my eyes trying to resist and opened them again to find myself back and Jhin walking in with a piece of paper in hand.
-Hey, did you like the training? Because we are going out in the open so you'll be able to get your revenge against the Bulkars back at the Peak of the eternal night. We were scouting the area when we found you so we must finish that before tomorrow and...Are you all right Mario? You are sweating a lot for someone who has been training for so little time. Here, drink up and follow me.
Jhin tossed me a bottle of water and I drank it in one go as I didn't want to close my eyes, the being was still clear in my head and I was frightened of what it could do but I knew I would have to eventually face it if I wanted to know what that meant.
I followed Jhin through the light and into the same vehicle in which I came where the other guy who was with Jhin at first was waiting, a serious guy standing around 1.90 m. who wouldn't have yet reached his thirties yet his tanned and tough skin along with this short haircut which led to a scar next to his left eye gave him the aura of an old experienced warrior; His clothes were not something I had seen before, it looked like an armor that a Samurai would wear but they were not made of any material I could match with those of the samurais, a crude looking dark green and a sword hanging on his hip. We went in and Jhin drove us to the peak as he gave us a briefing-Mario Ad Noman, my name is Ray Saxum and I am the leader of this party and that means that what I say you must follow, no questions asked. Follow my lead and you will not perish. Our mission is simple, there are reports about the sighting of human like being going inside the Peak, and it is definitely not one of our guys so it's probably one of the Darkness Warriors, stay alert and play along. Mario, you'll be on the back with Jhin since your skills are poor and so it's your experience. I'll handle the front line while Jhin backs me up; your job is to keep Jhin's back clear all right?
I nodded holding back the fact that I had just been called useless but I understood that as a newcomer he was right. We arrived to the peak and it took us no time to find the right cave as a group of creatures were grouped outside one of them:
The Bulkars were really big, over two meters easily even more as they were not of the same size were walking around the area outside the cave's entrance, their bodies were covered in shadows which blazed like black flames and they would make a weird sound like a cry when they collided against each other while walking, separating almost instantly as they would glare at each other right after with the eyes that I would not be forgetting any time soon.
Ray gave a signal and Jhin and I got ready, I tried to pull out my sword from the gauntlet but for some reason it wouldn't work, I was going to warn Ray about my situation when he had already jumped in.
Making a two meters jump down he unsheathed his sword and swiftly dispatched the closest Bulkar, cutting its back from side to side then piecing its head which caused the Bulkar to dissipate like smoke. The others took almost no time to react to its fellow being slain but the quick trigger of Jhin gave Ray enough room to finish off a second Bulkar; four were left as Jhin's covering fire would keep them at bay for Ray to take on them one by one. The Bulkars would fight back with their claws, hitting ray from time to time who wasn't even bothered by it as the claws would not even scratch his armor. The Bulkars numbers were going down by the minute when only two were left as one of them ignoring Jhin's gunfire charged past Ray and toward us.
"MOVE!" Yelled Ray as he turned toward me while I kept trying to make my gauntlet work and tossed his sword toward the charging Bulkar piercing its head as Jhin landed a head shot on the Bulkar before it could land an attack on Ray and banish in thin air right after.
"I thought you said he had completed his summoning!" demanded Ray as his sword materialized back on his hand and he put it away.
"He did! He got hit by the knight and the he pulled out the.....Oh, I guess his gauntlet needs something to copy in order to work" Replied Jhin as he looked at me with pity eyes and then back at Ray- "Try hitting him with your sword and you will see his summoning"
I stood there with a firm look at Ray wanting to prove him my worth but he shook his head
"You'll stay on the back and in the worst case you can always use that gauntlet to defend yourself and Jhin, I need no demonstrations of your powers, we confirmed with this number of Bulkars that there is a Darkness Warrior inside, You will stay outside and safe out here" Were Ray words as he and Jhin walked in the cave and I stood there powerless once again, It took me only a day in this new world to find out I was yet again not able to show results..."Well, It would not be fun if I give up now right?" I said out loud as my gauntlet silver color darkened a little bit and shined as the sword's hilt was once again at my view, I held it tightly and walked in the cave.
