Days started to blur, lessons after lessons from the Oleytekan and his family made the days fly by. Pretty soon both Sullys were making progress among the Navi.
"You are learning well, Marie." Neytiri praised. The little girl sat infront of the older woman on her bottom. Staying as still as possible so her hair could be braided.
Marie blushed at the compliment, playing with the toys in her hands. "Thank you." She mumbled shyly.
Jake, who was not far behind the two girls approached them with a bounce in his step. A peace he had never known started to settle in. As well as a new love he had yet to experience. These new found experiences seemed to grow more and more when he was around Neytiri and Marie.
While it should frighten him, it didn't, but it did fill him with guilt. Eventually, the RDA would arrive, and Neytiri would find out that he was with them all along. And if his betrayal wasn't enough, the heartbreak his daughter would face would be something he might not be able to recover from. Yet, he could not stop being selfish.
He was always the one to give and give. With him and Tommy, he was the one who gave up his dream so his brother could pursue a career in science. He gave up his legs for a country that couldn't care less if he was alive or not. With Carmen, he put aside his own hurt so Marie's could be less, but for his daughter he did not mind.
But this time, he wanted to receive. Even if it was for a little while.
"Daddy! Look, Neytiri did my hair!" Marie sprung up from the floor twirling in front of both adults. "Do I look nice?"
"You look beautiful, babygirl," Jake said smiling softly at the duo infront of him.
Neytiris eyes moved from Marie to Jake. Two new found feelings blooming inside of her for both of the Sullys. Tsu'Tey was an obligation, but Jake was love she had never experienced. It filled her with calm and happiness. And little Marie, Neytiri would be more than willing to sacrifice many things for her safety and happiness.
