It was my first day at high school. I was standing outside the school building, nervous and excited at the same time. I took a deep breath and I stepped inside. The hallway was crowded by people walking in and out of the building. I founded my classroom and I found a seat and I sat down. Then the teacher came in the door. "Welcome students, to a new year! I'm your new chemistry teacher! My name is Mr. Douglas and i am 41 years old" he said, "well, let's get started! Please find your books and turn on to page 5... Can you Mr. Mellark please start reading for us?" Mr. Douglas asked, I looked behind me, and there sat a beautiful boy with blonde curls and blue bright eyes and stared at his book. He must have seen that I was staring at him, because now, he was staring at me. "Mr. mellark? Is there any problem?" The teacher asked him, "uhm, yes, I mean no... Uh, I mean..." He stuttered, "well that's okay... Can you mrs. Mason?" He asked a girl now. "What was that for" the boy laughed, "what?", "it shouldn't be legal to be so beautiful" he smiled, "and, you made me loose my concentration" he poked, "I'm Peeta by the way" he smiled, "I'm Katniss" I returned the smile.
Now it was lunch time. I sat alone right before the boy named Peeta came by. "Can I sit here?" He asked me, "uhm yeah, sure" I replied, "cool". In the lunch we talked much. A lot in fact! He told me about himself, and I told him about me. He actually listened! He was so cute when he was talking. "It was nice talking to you" he said, "yeah, I had a great time!" I replied, "the same table at the same time tomorrow?" He asked me, "yeah, sure" I smiled.
The next class was history and we learned about The hunger games. Why it is arranged, when it started, the rebellion, and stuff like that. I knew a the hunger games was terrible! 24 kids running around trying to kill each other! Insane! But we were working in pairs, and I got tougher with a girl called Foxface, and a girl called Annie. They both were very kind and funny.
"Who are they?" I asked my new friends, "that, are the popular kids, you see the tall boy with blonde hair, he's the 'leader' of the group and he is together with the black haired girl over there" Annie explained, "just stay away from them, especially the blonde girl named Glimmer also known as the queen bee or the drama queen" Foxface added. "They look like douchebags" I mumbled for myself.
On my way home, I couldn't stop thinking about Peeta. It was something special about him. I really wanted to get to know him better, I needed to get to know him better.
