A Little Late, Don't You Think

Chapter 35- Mike POV

Hey guys. I'm so busy that I haven't got a chance to update. This is finally in Mike's POV. YAY!!!! Sadly I'm only updating once. Sorry. Don't kill me. Chapter 35.

I wake up earlier and walk down stairs. I see my mom, but she does not notice so I walk away. Being the only child sucks, but what can you do. I grab a bowl of cereal and sit at the kitchen table. My mom walks in and grabs a cup of coffee. She sits across from me and reads the paper.

"Good morning mom. How are you?" I say to her so she can try to notice.

"Oh good morning Mikey. I'm great actually. How are you?" She asks. I feel like she doesn't care.

"I'm great. I was wondering if we can hang out this weekend. I mean I don't really see you any more and I miss you." I say. She looks at me like I'm crazy.

"Well Mikey?.?.? I'm not sure. I have meetings this weekend and your cousin Henry is coming over. Maybe you can hang with him." My mom says to me.

"Yeah sure. I will hang with Henry. I'm going to go get ready for school. Maybe you can drop me off?" I ask. She glances up from the paper and gives me that, this is my only break until I really have to go in for work look.

"You know what, forget about that question. I will ride with Anthony or something." I say and she nods while going back to the paper. I put my bowl in the sink and walk to my room. It is the exact same shit everyday with her. I jump in the shower and stand there for a few minutes. When I get out I just throw on some shorts and a t-shirt and head out. Before I walk out the door my mom screams for me.

"Yeah mom what is wrong?" I ask.

"Oh Mike I'm glad you didn't leave yet. I wanted you to be home regular time because I needed you to be here with Henry while I go out of town for the weekend." She says.

"Yeah okay. I will be home regular time." I say and walk away. By the time I get to school I already missed homeroom and part of first period. I see Faith and I walk up to her.

"Hey Faith. Want to hang with me, my cousin, Valerie and Joey this weekend?" I ask. My mom won't be here might as well have some friends over.

"Hey Mike. I wish I could, but I'm staying with my mom this weekend. Maybe next time." Faith says and I nod and walk away. I go to my class and wish this day will ended already.

When the final bell rings I grab my things and head home. I honestly don't want to go home, but I don't want to hear my mom bitch. When I get home my mom is scrambling to get things ready for herself, me and Henry. I clear my throat and she looks up quickly.

"Oh my god Mike. You scared me. Thank you for fallowing my directions. Henry will be here soon and I'm leaving soon too." She says.

"Okay. Have a safe trip." I say and she nods. I go in my room and text Valerie and Joey and tell them pack your sleeping bags because we are having a get together. After that I start my homework. Maybe about 20 minutes later my mom comes in the room and tells me she is leaving. Before I can say anything she already left. I sigh in lost and finish up this assignment.

I hear a knock on my front door and go and get it. Valerie and Joey come in.

"Hey guys. Glad you can make it." I say.

"Hey Mike. I'm glad we can make it too. I can't wait to meet your cousin Henry." Valerie says while walking up to my moms room. I scream at her that is wear she can sleep and nods.

"Hey Mike. I'm glad I'm free this weekend." Joey says and I nod. I walk in the kitchen and set up some food and whatever. Then about an 1 hour later I hear another knock. I open the door and see my cousin Henry.

"Hey my lil cousin. How are you? I missed you man." He says and I give him a big hug.

"Hey Henry. I'm great. I missed you more. Also mom is out this weekend, so it is just me, you and my two friends." I tell him and he nods. I walk him to the living room and introduce him to Joey and Valerie. They seem so excited to meet him and he is excited to meet them.

They all talk for hours and hours. We are eating, laughing and I realized I never loved my family and friends more than anything.

Okay guys. Mike was sad and now he was happy. Henry is very energetic. I don't have that much to say. Hope you guys are enjoying the book. PLease vote and comment :-)
