ANGEL CHAPTER FOUR THE SLAUGHTER
the sun shined shyly upon the castle of naboo.
nebulé couldn't help but overhear anakin the night before crying and muttering in his sleep. nebulé trudged the halls of the castle lightly in search for anakin. seeing as he wasn't in his room, the kitchen, the dinning area, or even the living room, she decided to check the balcony next.
and there she saw him, all her worries washed away as she realized he hadn't been kidnapped or had ran away.
anakin was meditating, he looked so peaceful. nebulé realized that he probably needed quiet and to be alone, so she turned around and began to walk back to her room to give him that.
"don't go", his said, causing her to stop walking and turn back around and advance to him. she did so slowly.
"i don't want to disturb", nebulé spoke quietly.
"your presence is soothing", anakin admitted.
nebulé would've thought anything but. she would've thought it was uncomfortable, seeing as they shared a kiss the night before.
"you had another nightmare last night", nebulé stated.
"jedi don't have nightmares", anakin stated.
"i heard you", nebulé countered.
anakin was silent for awhile. he seemed to be processing that nebulé heard him have a nightmare, making couldn't help but be embarrassed a little bit.
"i saw my mother", anakin admitted with a heavy sigh.
nebulé didn't know much about anakin's family, but she knew that anakin had to leave his mother behind on tatooine to pursue his dreams of becoming a jedi.
"what's wrong with her?" nebulé asked soothingly, she didn't want to provoke anakin as he was already in a tense state.
anakin turned around slowly, opening his eyes and bringing his hands forward from the place they rested on prior.
"she is suffering, nebulé", anakin's voice trembled, "i saw her as clearly as i see you now"
anakin stared into nebulé's eyes for a moment, pouring his emotions out for her to see, before ripping his gaze away from her, and to the beautiful view ahead of him.
anakin sighed deeply, "she is in pain", he turned around to look at nebulé, "i know i'm disobeying my mandate to protect the senator, but i have to go"
