**1 MONTH LATER**
--Alexa POV--
Ionia is a world filled with magic, and I was one of the lucky people to be gifted with the ability to use that magic. Although it's easier said than done; Especially with John as my teacher.
In the month that I've been living on this island, John's taught me everything I need to know about the world, and about myself; That includes my ability to use magic as a nature elementalist.
"It seems that you've got quite a lot of magic. To be able to last that long is quite the endeavour, but I'm not surprised; You are my student after all," He grinned, ruffling my hair.
"Not that being your student has anything to do with the amount of magic stored in me," I couldn't help but roll my eyes as he scoffed his reply.
I've learnt that magic is something that all semi-humans have, but the amount of magic a person has in them varies from person to person. The amount of magic you have inside you amounts to how much magic you can use with what strength and for how long, it's the basis of it all.
"That's an odd way of saying thank you," Flicking my forehead, he had that audacity to stick his tongue out a second later, and to get my revenge for him making fun of me, I waved my hand as one of the low hanging branches behind him swept down, hitting the back of his head.
"Ouch!" He hissed, the teasing smirk long gone to be replaced with a pained glare, and now it was my turn to stick my tongue out in amusement.
"I still don't properly understand the magic storing thing about all of this. So, you could be a dreamer, the strongest class of magic users, but if you only have a little magic inside you then you can't really be much of a threat? Right?" I changed the subject before he had the opportunity to get his revenge on me.
"Yes, although that would be extremely unlucky," He scoffed, letting me win this time.
"How so?" I asked, going to sit on the ground as he squatted down in front of me, drawing a series of random shapes on the sand with his forefinger as he did.
"1000 years ago, when the floating city of Andreas fell, and all the magic from that city was returned to the land of Ionia, some people were hit by the magic on its way to the land, and that's where the semi-human race started. Some people were hit by more magic than others, and that is inherited into the next generation. When a woman and a man get together and have a kid, the kid will either inherit its mother or father's amount of magic."
"It doesn't add together to go to the child?" I asked.
"No, imagine the inexplicable amount of magic storage people would have nowadays if that were true? Utter chaos. Vita thought about it when she decided that," Apparently, Vita is the most respected being to ever exist, and anyone caught talking bad about her is sentenced to death without another thought, but somehow, that wasn't enough to make John fearful since he's always talking about her as if he personally knew her.
