--Alexa POV--

He was an odd person. A quietly composed man that didn't like to speak much, but when he spoke, people listened. And yet, behind that exterior, he somehow looked like a frightened child. Of course, I didn't say any of that aloud, I learnt that the hard way; To always think before I speak in case I end up offending someone, John got the majority of the brunt of that.

He was handsome, looking like he'd been carefully hand crafted by an experienced artisan. Raven black hair resembling the night sky, and grey eyes that sparkled like the stars, a quiet solitude of air hung around him as he looked at me with a certain peculiar glint.

He was tall with a healthy number of muscles in all the right places, a sharp jawline and high cheekbones, I couldn't help but wonder what he'd look like if he were to smile. One word struck me as I looked at him, and that was 'night', comfortable yet lonely.

And in that moment, I thought that of all people, why was it him that was stood here right now?

"Yes." He spoke quietly yet firmly with a deep, airy voice.

"Yes?" I echoed, confused.

"I answered your previous question... Yes, I am from civilisation." Oh, he's a man that sticks by his words too; It's only polite to answer someone's question before giving them your own, something new that I was able to learn today, from a complete stranger at that.

"You must be Alexia." He stated as a matter-of-fact, apparently unaware of the fact that he got it wrong, but I couldn't refute his words when he said it with so much confidence. He's lucky that I liked the sound of Alexia.

"You know me?" I blinked, confused.

"Johnathon told me about you. The girl who can't sit still from the moment she wakes up from her sleep, you're a wildfire." I should be offended, but nothing of what he said was a lie. Despite that, I jokingly glared at him, something he wasn't able to tell was a joke.

"Am I wrong?" It was his turn to be confused now.

"You know my name, it's only fair for me to know yours." I changed the subject.

"I didn't willingly learn your name. I never asked anyone to tell me who you were." I've also learnt that he's a difficult man that loved taking the long route to things.

"Does it matter? I want to know the name of the man that peeked in on me when I was showering." Crossing my arms, I pursed my lips as I tried to stifle an amused laugh at the flash of surprise that momentarily passed his features.

"That wasn't willingly either, I am not the kind of man that would peek in on anyone showering." He narrowed his eyes into slits, defending himself as he spoke. Clearly, he wasn't the kind of person that knew how to take a joke, but I planned to take full advantage of this.
